Vehicle Detail
1961 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK1 BT-7 2+2 ROADSTER. ORIGINAL COLORS COLORADO RED WITH GREY TRIM. 4-SPEED, WIRE WHEELS, HEATER. VIN # HB17LO13088Body # 3061BT7L 13161Engine # 29D / RU / H 9342Recorded Mileage 76,932 Offered for auction, here on Ebay, from KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS, is this desirable Austin Healey 3000 MK1, a popular model offering front disc brakes and a powerful torquey engine. This car has been in storage for the past 25 years and now awaits a full restoration. It appears fairly complete, except for a few noted missing items that are available new or used. These items are the 2 back seat metal pan bottoms and rear wooden squab, radiator, softtop header bow and finisher (I have the softtop latches and original sidecurtain set.) This car appears to have left the factory in the original color scheme of Colorado Red with Grey trim and is fitted with a correct 4-speed sideshift transmission and MK1 engine with 29D prefix. The engine seems to be stuck from sitting, and I assume it would need a rebuild. The body needs general restoration overall, with some usual Healey rust areas for repair, including inner and outer rockers, bottoms of panels, etc. The outriggers appear solid. The floors appear reasonable with some repairs required to the front toe boards and some additional areas. The trunk floor need replacing, as most cars do. The front shroud could use a complete stripdown and the metal reworked for a good result. The car has its correct gauges and switchgear in decent shape. An additional tachometer is included to replace the broken one. All of the chromework is present. There is an assortment of parts pictured that are included with the car. The windshield glass isn't broken but is badly delaminating. A later centershift fiberglass tunnel cover has been modified at some point for the sideshift gearbox. Included is the original front firewall steel arch for the gearbox cover. The car rolls and steers fine for transportation. It is sold with an older clear title, which matches it's VIN plate. The car has it's correct and original body tag and a correct engine ID plate for it's 3000 MK1 engine. This car is located in Southern California and can be viewed by appointment.
