Vehicle Detail

Up for your consideration is a vintage 1986 CJ-7 JEEP. It is a keeper, being the last year made of the CJ Model. I had it since the late 1990’s. I bought it as a project jeep but never worked on it. It was last driven in 2001 and has been garage kept since then. It comes with lots of accessories. It has the 5" rubber rigid side fenders. It has two extra tires (BF GOODRICH ALL TERRAIN TA TIRES- 35X12.50R15LT) and an original valve cover. I replaced the radiator (old OEM radiator is include)-it leaks so I bought the new one. The solenoid, battery, spark plugs and wires are also new. I am including an new alternator which I never was installed. It does turn over and runs. I drove it out of the garage to take these pictures. However it needs to have the gas tank purges as the fuel has been in there since 2001. I did notice that the fuel tank line gas and vent line need to be replaced as they are worn, opened, and brittle. The cost for those hoses runs about $30 on eBay. It is an in-line six cylinder with air conditioning. I haven’t replaced the belts—only the hoses. Note on picture #11 that the A/C belt has been disconnected. The A/C compressor works but I haven't gotten around to replacing the belt. I will be throwing in the remaining Freon (R-12) which is in its own original container. It has about 64,000 original miles—me being the third owner. It has monster tires and is lifted. It has a Dana rear. I haven't replaced the original fluid, except the coolant in the radiator and I guess that will be needed. Before I stored it in my garage, I never had any problems with the engine or transmission. I did replace the original plastic valve cover as it was a mistake by Jeep and it was not meant for high temperatures. It will need to be restored as I haven’t maintained it in years. I did change the oil but not the tranny fluid. It will probably need new brakes and a thorough inspection. The floorboards is rusted through in four spots. Two on the driver's side and two on the passenger side. The tried to epoxy those areas but the epoxy didn't hold. I believe the floorboards can be corrected by an experienced welder who can weld some flat plates on those openings. If you need detailed pictures of those areas, I can email them to you.I am selling it as-is. I recommend it be put on a flat-bed truck for towing to your destination as I am not sure of its road safety until it gets inspected by a mechanic. It will need a lot of small odds and ends. All questions are welcomed. It is a great CJ-7 for restoration by the right mechanic. I have lots of pictures available but only allowed twenty-four on eBay. I realize that the parts themselves could be sold separate and command a higher end price but I need the space in the garage for my wife’s car. Please feel free to contact me with questions. I will be adding to the description as I find more information to share.
