Vehicle Detail
Have decided to offer my 1972 GMC Super Custom 1500 for sale. I bought it because it is virtually rust free and complete. The truck has the factory tach dash and hard to find split bucket seats with the center glove box. I bought it from a lady who inherited it from here father who had begun building a hot rod. She let it set for 8 years before selling it to me. Her father had installed a rebuilt 402 BB and rebuilt TH-400 automatic. He also installed headers and flow master exhausts. The engine has 240 PSI compression in every cylinder (yes that surprised me too) and is extremely responsive. The interior looks remarkable and even the original dash pad is perfect. Look at the pictures! I installed a new Edelbrock Performer Air Gap manifold, matching 800 CFM carburetor, Edelbrock air filter, and a new MSD HEI distributor, MSD 8mm plug wires and new plugs. I replaced the heater hoses, and upper radiator hose etc. The engine starts instantly and runs extremely smooth. Very spirited to say the least. Additionally I bought new tires front and rear, all new upper and lower polished stainless side molding, and tail gate trim. I also purchased all new custom Oak wood bed and polished stainless bed strips and bolt kit. I also have new rear inner fender wells. I have just ordered a new correct BB fan shroud too. All of which will be included. So why am I selling it after spending so much money? All that being said, a friend of mine called me and asked if I would bail him out of the show truck he was building and I said yes. Since there is only so much time and money I had to make a choice and decided to offer this one and re-coup some of the $$$$ spent so that I can finish the other one this winter. If you live in Washington State, I just put new license plates and tabs on it too. There is work to do, but well worth it. Oh, it has the coil spring rear suspension too. On Oct-19-14 at 06:46:03 PDT, seller added the following information: There have been numerous questions asked about the truck and so I am adding this information: 1. It is a long bed. 2. I have owned it only 2 months and driven about 20 miles. 3. Is it a good first car for your son? That depends on your son. 4. Yes it has power disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. 5. Yes those are 15 inch Rally Wheels 6. The is a little rust along the front inside lip of the bed where it bolts to the wood. I have not done any body work or prep yet. 7. I am selling it to re-coupe funds to put into a Ford F-100 show truck I am building. If reserve is not met I will tear in down and build it too. Here is what I have spent not counting labor in the past two months:Purchase Truck: (not running) $3000.00 Edelbrock Air-Gap Performer with matched 800cfm carburetor: $840.00 Battery: $149.00 New Fan Shroud: $180.00 Four new Master-craft Qualifier Radials: $780.00 New MSG Street Fire HEI Distributor: $150.00 New MSG 8mm plug wires: $89.00 New A/C plugs: $28.00 New Stainless throttle cable kit: $49.00 New Custom Oak Bed Kit with Polished Stainless bed strips and hardware: $825.00 New Polished upper and lower side molding kit: $640.00 New rear wheel housings: $200.00 Total New Parts: $3,930.00 Total with purchase: $6930.00 in last 60 days On Oct-19-14 at 16:42:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Important Note: Dear bidders and potential bidders, please understand that I am including the new oak floor boards and polished stainless bed strips, but I will not be installing them at this price. Same goes for the new polished upper and lower side moldings etc. I will install the new fan shroud.
