Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1958 Ford Skyliner Retractable Hardtop. I have owned this car a few years now and had planned to finish restoring it but have too many other commitments right now. I have had this car running, it has the 332 V8 and automatic. Car looks pretty much complete. The 9 top motors do work on it but it will need some work on the relays behind the seat. The glass is good in the car, seats have been professionally reupholstered in the correct pattern. Exterior is red with a white top and red and white interior one of the most desirable color combinations on these. The glass is good, dash is complete. The car will need normal rust repair in the rockers and rear quarters. It will need some floor work. The braces for the top are good, front fenders are nice and solid, nice grill, front bumper good. These cars are bringing $50K+ restored so this would be a very economical way to get into one of these cars. This car is being sold as is where is no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied. Feel free to ask any questions before the auction ends as sales are final. Buyer is solely responsible for all transportation costs. Full payment is due within 7 days of end of auction. Rare opportunity to purchase one of these cars, only 14,000 were built and very few remain, an excellent investment opportunity! It will need one exhaust manifold replaced and I have a good one that goes with the car. I also have 2 original spotlights that go with the car. I have not driven this car on the highway but it has been shedded since I purchased it. Thanks and good luck!On Oct-09-14 at 09:00:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to clarify for those that have been asking, there is No Reserve on this car, it is here to be sold. Thanks for your interest! On Oct-12-14 at 20:51:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Several have asked if this is a 332 or 352, it is clearly a big block and it's hard to differentiate for sure. It could very well be the original engine but I can't guarantee that. I have a correction to make it is a 2 barrel carb on it not a 4 barrel, I couldn't remember until I looked at it today. I will post pictures of the floorboards in the car tomorrow. Driver's side floor seems fairly solid, but will post detailed pictures tomorrow. On Oct-13-14 at 11:59:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added several pictures showing the front floorboards and a rear. The front floorboards look to be intact, have had a couple patches over the years which is fairly normal. I also went under the car took pictures of the trunk floor, showing the spare tire tub underneath, the frame, etc taken from the back and from the front of the car. My mechanic(certified ASE mechanic) is coming today to pick up the car and check it over at his shop to make sure it will be running, brakes working etc. So car will be checked over before the buyer takes delivery of it.On Oct-13-14 at 17:54:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I have an update from my mechanic who worked on the car today. He had to replace a coil wire and do a little minor work with the fuel pump. The car starts up and runs-he's going to check over the carb and clean that up tomorrow. The brakes are holding fluid and are working.. The car is holding antifreeze, no leaks anywhere. He suggested it would be best to trailer the car as the exhaust manifold should be replaced with the good one that goes with the car, as it is too loud to be driven on the roads. The car does not smoke, no knocks or noises in the engine, good oil pressure and the charging system is working. On Oct-14-14 at 14:45:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to clarify, the car is now running but I haven't done any work to the internals of the engine. It's possible it may or may not need work done in the future. The car is being sold as is aesthetically and mechanically with no warranties or guarantees as this is an old car and there is no way to know the full history of it from new. It is running to drive it on your trailer for hauling home for transport but car should be gone thru and checked over more before you would drive it. I would be happy to show anyone the car tonight if you live in the area, just send me a message. Thanks for your interest in the car, any question please ask tonight and I will tell you what you need to know. Thanks!
