This truck had been converted to a 289/c4 from a 1965 Mustang donor vehicle around 1974 I was told, and driven until it was parked and stored in a tractor shed out of the elements since the early 80's. because it was declared too expensive to drive when gas hit 1.25 a gallon. The truck was basically forgotten about and none of the family members had any interest in it. I bought it, washed it, changed the oil, poured gas in it and fired it up almost immediately, pretty amazing actually.Since I purchased the truck, the following has been done: Freshly rebuilt and fully detailed 302 roller cam engine with GT40 heads and Ford Racing E-303 roller camshaft as evidenced by the numerous pictures, and rebuilt and detailed c4 automatic transmission rebuilt by Jeff Abbott at transmission technologies. If you know anything about transmission builders then you know Jeff Abbott is as good as they come , Truck has an 9 inch rear end with 373 gears. All NEW hardware used in construction of drive train. ALL NEW exhaust system with headers and 2.5 tubing with flowmasters and 3.5 inch bologna cut tips that exit through the side of the bed. New battery, cables, starter, solenoid, alternator carb, radiator, belly pan, breather, hoses, belts, motor/trans mounts, distributor, wires etc. Front suspension was rebuilt, new shocks all around, lowered 3.5 inches in front and 3.5 inches in the rear. ALL NEW brakes including all new steel lines, master cylinder, wheel cylinders brake shoes, hoses, brake hardware, axle bearings and seals and more. Body is way straighter then 99 percent of these old trucks and has very little rust. Tailgates for these trucks are rare as hens teeth and very expensive if you can find one in good condition. I drive and show the truck without the gate. If the buy it now option is chosen, I will include a BRAND NEW tailgate but only if the full price is met. The gate is worth 1500.00.All glass is good and windows roll up and down easily, doors open and close just like they should BOTH seats were recovered including new padding and both seats are included, just pulled the passenger seat to make photographing the engine easier. truck comes with 17 x 8 chrome torque thrust wheels and nice 245 45 17 tires.truck has been painted chassis black underneath and is very clean.Ready to hit the streets now and steal all the attention at the drive ins and car shows. The antique tractor-lube can in the bed of the truck is the fuel tank, truck has a range of about 75 miles (give or take) based on 15 mpg. The dog house has an acrylic dome to show off the engine when it's on but the whole dog house is designed to be easily removed by pulling the passenger seat with quick release pins because the engine looks great in it and people flip out when they look inside the cab! We have spared no expense to create a trustworthy, roadworthy, dependable, safe 1st generation Econoline that can be driven daily if desired without any apprehension as to whether or not it will perform as well as any modern vehicle as to reliability and durability.The truck runs drives steers stops shifts like a Timex and headlights, horn, brake lights, dome light, turn signals and even the emergency brake all work! We have CHOSEN to leave the cosmetics of the truck original with the exception of the wheels and tires. True car people can appreciate the historical patina of a farm truck that has served its owners well for half a century and has picked up bumps and bruises along the dirt roads and fields it has traveled over the last 50 years.
