Frame Off Restored Real Deal 1972 Plymouth Road Runner. The car still retains its original numbers matching 400 v8 engine and (A833)four speed manual transmission. It is one of only 906 built with the high performance 400 and four speed transmission from the factory. The car was built at the St. Louis Missouri plant on July 5th 1972. It was shipped to Arizona where it spent its life there before being purchase by its second owner in Oregon in 2002. The restoration was started in 2005 and finished in 2007. The car was originally B5 blue but repainted Hemi Orange inside, outside, under the hood and in the trunk. The car has been driven less than 2,000 miles since the frame off restoration was completed. The paint is still in Show Quality condition. The engine has a completely rebuilt build engine that is around 300 horsepower. East Co Automotive and Machining in Gresham boiled the bare block and then polished the crack shaft. Then it was bored .40 over and reassembled the bottom end. It now displaces 407 cubic inches. It received new Hi-Po pistons, rings, bearing, double roller timing chain, Mopar performance water pump and oil pump, 280/480 hydraulic camshaft and lifters. Guest Racing Engines in Mulino did the headwork. It has a Edelbrock Performer Aluminum intake and a 750 Edelbrock performer carburetor. It has Heddman Headers and Darrell's Mufflers in Portland hand built the exhaust, including the "H" pipe and hung the flow masters and correct exhaust tips. It has new sway bars, new shocks, new front end, new front bearings, new exhaust, new 8 and 3/4 rear end, new outer bearings and seals, new 323 posi trac rear, new brakes, all around new steering box. new tires and wheels five of them. The Spoilers were added and the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing are new as well. The transmission was rebuilt with a correct rebuilt unit and shift kit, new Hurst shifter, new seat covers, new dash and new door panels.
