Vehicle Detail

I am 73 years old with lung cancer, & seldom drive this truck. It has been driven only about 200 miles in the last 8 years. I have a "Silverado" I have driven for the last 8 years, & use this truck only for hauling metal to the scrap yard.. It was my "work truck" until I retired & got the Silverado to drive. (My Silverado has a "carpet lined bed", so I hate to haul junk in it.) I need to sell it to someone who needs a "GOOD, DEPENDABLE" truck..! It does not look very pretty, but VERY sound..mechanically...! The truck needs a paint job, some body work, & the front seats re-covered or replaced. The upper part of the dash also needs replacing. The motor is a 5.2 liter V8, I believe, & it runs perfect! The truck has 138, 000 actual miles. I had the transmission rebuilt around 2005 & it also "works perfect" .The transmission only has about 2000-3000 miles on it, since rebuilding. I replaced the engine around 2004, when the engine busted a hose & was ruined. The engine came out of a truck with approximatly the same milage. I spent $1950.00 on the motor & transmission. The truck has A/C, Stereo, Cruise control, a bedliner, Chrome step rails, "2" trailer hitches, power seats, windows, & locks. It has factory "custom aluminum wheels", tinted windows & the tires are good. The truck has a small crack in the bottom of the windshield, hardly noticable. I spent $300.00 having the truck "dualed out" ...so it has some "sound" .. The 18" chrome extensions have some surface rust. A few trips to the salvage yard, a "little" elbow grease, & a "few bucks" will get you a NICE, LOOKING ride at a "TREMENDOUS" BARGAIN ...! The "RIGHT" person can use this truck in their business, & IF they have the energy & talent in their spare time, they can sand & paint the truck, pick up needed items from a salvage yard, & "soon" have a VERY nice truck...worth a LOT of money...! I would not be afraid to drive the truck "anywhere" just as it sets ..! This truck has about a suggested retail value of $4300.00 in fair condition & a $6400.00 value if fixed up! This truck needs "some work" ..to make it look good, so IF you expect a "pretty" truck, don't bid on it! It is a "GREAT" work truck, mechanically perfect as far as I can tell, but needs a paint job & other minor replacements to be a "looker" . The "major componants" are already purchased. It has most of the options one would want. I am selling the truck at an "unbelievable" price to compensate for the work to be done, & selling it "as is" ...! I have been as honest as I can be in this presentation, & this truck has sold 2 weeks in a row, but the buyers have evidently had a money problem. In my opinion, this truck has "2" FANTASTIC OPTIONS...ONE is to fix the body & cosmetic items up, & the other would be for use on a farm or in a small town, for those who "just need a GOOD work truck"..! Since I am in "bad health"...I am trying to spare my wife the burden of selling my items when I leave. We "ALL" know the desire people have for an "estate" item, at a great price !
