Vehicle Detail

Hand-fabricated by Ridge Park Speed in Louisville, KY, this one-of-a-kind 1937 Chevrolet hauler handles as good as it looks. To start the build, the crew at RPS engineered a square tube chassis featuring a removal transmission cross-member for easy maintenance. The parallel leaf suspension gives this hot rod a sinister low slung stance. The original 1937 steel cab has been hand stripped so that the raw design elements, such as the double beaded body line, show through. Backing up to the cab is a one-off bed that has been assembled to resemble a factory-stamped unit, down to the hand rolled beading and bed stakes. Final highlights of the exterior include aluminum accent panels featuring 880 hand punched louvers (via a louver press built in house at RPS), hand formed and louvered aluminum hood, and a functional crank out windshield. The interior retains a stock appearance dressed up by aluminum door panels that include louvers and accent rivets, a one-piece hand formed floor, and factory gauges (non-functional). Support the shop by picking up your own Ridge Park Speed t-shirt featuring our shop car – the Ridge Park Terror Model A Coupe (shirts available through our other eBay listings). The RPS engineered square tube chassis features a removable transmission cross-member for ease of maintenance, disc brake differential and 3.73:1 gear ratio, and a tubular front straight axle. Power is supplied by a 307 cubic inch Small Block Chevrolet that starts the first time everytime. Power is transferred through a fresh Powerglide tranmission assembled by Jim Decker Racing Transmissions. The unique parallel leaf front suspension is reminiscent of the early 1930’s race cars and is quite a conversation topic everywhere the truck goes. Custom lightening holes have been contrast painted deep Burgundy so that they stand off from the glossy Royal Blue enamel base color.Artistically styled engine mounts are just one of the many handmade custom touches on this trick pick-up. These RPS fabricated lakes style headers give this Chevrolet small block a true hot rod sound. 1935 vintage Dodge Bros artillery wheels are wrapped in 6.50 – 16 rubber in the rear and 5.50-16 rubber on the front to give the truck an aggressive stance. The interior retains a factory appearance with a ‘30s styled steering wheel with billet machined center insert, satin black RPS tubular steering column and factory gauges (non-functional).The inside of the cab and the floor have been coated with textured fleckstone for a clean, uniform appearance. Custom touches include louvered aluminum door panels with accent rivets, vintage styled “Drag Chute” shifter handle, and skull head molded into the dash. A 1935 Chevrolet grill shell houses the new dual core radiator that keeps the 307 cubic inch Chevrolet small block running flawlessly. The crew at RPS spent approximately 40 hours forming and fitting the louvered aluminum hood. Mint condition 1936 Chevrolet head lamps were chosen for their large diameter and curved lenses. These headlights were rewired to accept 12-volt power. The gloss black paint that was applied to the inside of the buckets at the factory still shines! The crew at RPS designed the bed to retain stock design elements such as the hand rolled beading and factory inspired bed stakes, and added the louvered aluminum accent panels on the sides and rear. The aluminum floor of the bed contains 300 hand stamped louvers.
