I regretfully am offering up for auction today my 1970 Land Rover which I believe to be a Series IIA (a fact also supported by a fellow Ebayer). It was built in 9/70 and has sat for at least the last 3 years. I bought this with intentions of restoring it but it just sits and since I just found a litter of kittens inside of it (don't worry they are all safe and healthy) I've decided maybe it is time for someone else to complete what I wanted to do with her. It has sat for over a year since I pushed in the clutch and it didn't retract. So, it probably needs a slave cylinder as well as a master cylinder for the clutch system as well as a good spring for the clutch pedal itself. Interior is good, the truck has 55k miles on it and the body is straight although one fender is a little wavy. The frame is solid but of course there is surface rust underneath. BFGoodrich Tires are new but have been sitting for 3 years so they have some dryrot on the sides. It starts with a gas can hooked up to the carb, I would recommend flushing out the gas tank as it sounds empty but wouldn't take any chances. If you are restoring it I am sure this would be on your checklist anyway. I don't know much about this as it was something I always wanted to get to but never had the chance. I can only give a bill of sale on this car as in South Carolina such an old car never had a title.
