we are selling our 1966 mustang convertible with rare working factory air conditioning and a ford replica am/fm radio with cassette player and 2 speakers in the doors--it has been in our family for over 30 years--my father in law had it painted ford red orange approximately 25-30 years ago (the original color was white) --the paint is still as vibrant as it was when it was painted back then as its been garaged the entire time--there is a couple minor dents in the right rear quarter panel,i took several pics and it hardly even shows but i owe it to you buyers to mention it,as well as a small scratch on the passenger door lower as seen in a pic too--the car is mostly original other than the paint and it has the original 289 200hp 2 barrel carbureted v8 with only 98000 miles and doesnt burn a drop of oil (motor block number c5ae 9425 d- production date is 4k17 which as i understand is oct 17th 1964) --the transmission shifts great and no sign of slippage,even on hard acceleration--it has the original style single exhaust --the convertible top was replaced when the car was painted back in the day and is in great condition other than it does have a couple holes in the drivers side of it(we never drive it in rain so we never put the top up and it hasnt bothered us)--dont know how they got there but there is a close up pic showing it anyway--last year we did lots of service on it to include1-new tires2-complete brake overhaul3- new starter4-converted it from generator to alternator with new alternator,solenoid and reg rectifier5-new belts and hoses6-a/c service(the factory a/c works great)7-transmission service8--new gas tank a few years ago9-new convertible tonneau cover10--radiator was replaced a few years back and has a new cap on it i have the original radio, door speaker plates and the original air filter cover i will include with it,as well as the glove box insert which is not installed --the car has virtually no rust that i can find and runs and drives great--it has what i believe to be the original floor mats and the original jack kit as well--the drivers seat is also separated at the sew seams also,not ripped just coming apart--the carpet was replaced several years ago as well and is like new and we added front seat belts too--this car is not in showroom condition but for being mostly original its in excellent condition other than the few issues ive mentioned--and definitley in better condition than most non restored ones ive seen --i reserve the right to end this auction at any time as its for sale locally,so dont miss out on this really nice classic mustang that has many years left of enjoyable riding left on it---
