palmbeachclassics Store 1971 MERCEDES BENZ 280SE - W111 NO RESERVE! Convertible / Conversion Low Grill Power Windows A/C This car was manufactured late 1969 and registered as a 1971. The 280SE was originally a coupe and converted in the 1980's to a convertible. Over the years, the previous owner has enjoyed the car and never had the chance or time to repair the soft top frame and to fix the upper windshield frame to close the top properly. So, it will have to be done. The chrome trims are in a box and will come with the car. The soft top alone is worth a few thousand dollars. The car has the 3.5 trims and is has the original 280SE engine. This is NOT a 280SE 3.5 Mercedes! The car runs and drive good. The A/C needs to be serviced, and freon to be added. The car overall is nice as you can see. The paint is good with small nicks in the front front the road. Interior is very clean. The chrome on the front bumper will have to be done and the rest is good for a driver. No other known issues, it is a good driver that could be cleaned up nicely.
