Every car has a story . . . and this one has a whopper!! I bought these two cars and pieces from local Lotus enthusiast; he bought them from the original owner, who was planning to build two race cars. These cars have the Lotus engines and 5 speed transmissions. Car with the paint stripped had a minor accident in the front; the owner then bought another Lotus (burgundy colored) that was damaged in the back to use for parts for the first one. He then pulled the bodies off of both cars, and cut the stripped one in half. We're not exactly sure why he did :( ; it looks like the original nose was not actually that bad. Both cars have/had approximately 17,000 miles. I was originally going to sell these cars separately, however after examining all parts and both cars more closely, I decided that new owner may want to use the original nose assembly, so I am selling both cars and all extra parts as one big package!! The nose that is currently on the car looks to have been done fairly well, with fiberglass reinforced floors and door seals and also metal rods in the windshield posts. Unfortunately we DO NOT have a nice windshield for the car; the one currently on it is broken on the top corner. There was one wrapped in cardboard when i bought everything originally, however when we unwrapped it, it was shattered. We also only have one good back window. Everything was replaced on the "complete" car; brakes, lines, suspension pieces, ball joints, clutch, and engine was gone over. Basically was a complete, running chassis,very nice. Second engine does turn over freely, however oil pan was removed. Transmission is also in with extra parts; it was going to become a racing engine. VIN stated above (744245R) is for the first car in the photo. VIN for stripped Lotus is 743536R Here are pictures of the original nose piece: Front of the second car was damaged in the left rear; it could possibly be straightened. Body was also damaged in the rear, see photos. Pictures of the other frame. Please note that frame is damaged in left rear; may be able to straighten.
