IT REPRESENTS ONE OF ONLY 177 EXAMPLES EVER MADE WITH THIS ENGINE & TRANSMISSION COMBINATION! HEAVILY OPTIONED AND SURVIVED FROM DRY, SUNNY CALIFORNIA! SWEET INVESTMENT THAT WILL NOT COME AROUND AGAIN ANYTIME SOON! SPECIFICATIONS Year 1971 Make Ford Model Mustang 429CJ Mach 1 VIN 1F05C102431 Mileage 3,143 Engine 429 Cobra Jet Cylinders V8 Transmission Automatic Title Clear Color Bright Red Interior Color Red/Black DESCRIPTION An all new generation of the Mustang came about in 1971, replacing the old design with one entirely new and much larger in size. The roof line was far more distinctive. With it came the all new, optional 429ci V8 engine, which was to be offered for only one year. In additional to this ultra-rare power plant came some last year features that included the locking, flip-down gas cap. All Mach Is came equipped with the Competition Suspension consisting of heavy duty shock absorbers, heavy duty springs, front sway bar, rear stabilizer bar, and staggered rear shocks! We are extremely honored to offer this rare 1971 Ford Mustang Mach I 429 Cobra Jet! It comes heavily optioned with the 429ci V8-4V producing 370 horsepower, C6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, and 3.25:1 rear axle ratio! Additional factory equipment includes power steering, Rim Blow steering wheel, tilt steering column, folding Sport Deck rear seat, power front disc brakes, rear deck spoiler, Selectaire air conditioning, AM/FM Stereo radio, center console, deluxe seat belts, dash tachometer, and more! This magnificent example was ordered and delivered from the Los Angeles, California district and sold new in October 1970 from Theodore Robins Ford located in Costa Mesa, CA! The overall condition of this rust free example certainly supports a very long life protected in the dry, California environment! Its body is in superb condition with factory spot welds, door crimps, original floors and trunk pan in near perfect condition! Door fitment, glass alignment, and body gaps are all excellent! It was treated to a professional nut & bolt restoration that began in 2008 that included a bare metal re-spray by Webb Body Shop located in McCook, NE in the factory color of Bright Red(3) base coat/ clear coat finish. Since the car was fully disassembled, nearly every single component on this car is new or refurbished! This includes all new Red & Black interior upholstery, seat foams, new carpet, door sills, all new rubbers, gaskets, new brakes, wheel bearings, suspension components, fuel system, and more! The engine was rebuilt professionally by a performance engine builder based in Garden City, KS with expert results! The transmission was also fully rebuilt along with the rear end, a re-cored radiator, new heater core, and air conditioning components! The restorer admitted it was restored to be driven anywhere with assurance! It was a 3-year long process with expenses far exceeding the current asking price! It was finished officially in late 2011 and now shows just 3,100 miles on the odometer! It can be driven in perfect confidence! This gorgeous example is one of only 177 Mustang Mach I 429ci V8 automatics ever produced! With the horsepower years quickly coming to a close, the 1971 model year is largely recognized as the last of the Muscle Car era! It will come with the original radio with surround, new Pioneer radio & upgraded speakers with user manual, Ford user instruction manuals, spare tire with cover, complete trunk mat and jack storage bag! This Mach I represents one of the rarest Fords ever produced! We do not expect this example to last very long!
