DESCRIPTION '72 CHEVROLET CHEYENNE PICKUP LOADED - TINT, TILT, TACH, AIR AND MORE This 3/4 ton truck was purchased in the early 90's from the original owner in Oklahoma City. He was an elderly gentleman who's wife was forcing the sale because he was losing his eye site. He told me that when he purchased this truck, he thought it had all available options. It had a lot but not everything. When he found out there was more available, he set out to acquire all of it and succeeded with the exception of bucket seats. He upgraded it to a super, added factory overload springs to the back, changed the radio to a factory AM/FM, even added the second battery tray (and did it properly ...he moved the washer jug to the right side on the correct bracket just like the camper specials). Everything he added was factory except dual fuel tanks, one on each side in front of the rear wheels. The truck had 55,000 miles when I purchased it from him and I drove it to 73,000, then restored the outside and rebuilt the 402. The rebuild used all Chevrolet parts right down to the correct cast iron foot lifters. I turned the odometer back to zero when the project was done. The interior was never worked on and will need upholstery and carpet. It currently shows 43,545 which is the mileage since the exterior restoration and engine rebuild. The truck was used mostly to haul a trailer to and from Hershey and Carlisle. In 2001, it was parked in my barn in northern Michigan and has not been used since. It's current condition is as follows: Starts and runs but carb needs rebuilding, exhaust is loud, rocker panels and cab corners are in need of replacement, door bottoms will need work, rear bumper needs straightening, left rear fender was hit by a deer (see pictures). I would not recommend driving this home...it should be trailered. This truck has just woke up after sleeping for 11 years. I drove it a couple of miles and the carb is acting up....accelerator pump is weak if working at all, and the transmission is shifting at fixed points of 30 and 50mph. This is probably caused by a sticky valve or vacuum modulator. If the purchaser decides to drive it home, I will change the oil and filter, other fluids have already been topped off, put a battery in it and check the lighting. We will be happy to assist with loading this into or onto your trailer. The truck is located in South Boardman, MI which is about 25 miles east of Traverse City. It is the ideal truck for a frame up restoration as it has almost all the goodies including the exceptionally rare dealer installed cruise control. !! IMPORTANT !!
