Estate sale find. 1968 Buick Le Sabre convertible. Strong running 350 c.i. 4 bbl Buick engine, auto transmission ( numbers matching drivetrain ) , with a power top, power steering and power brakes. After spending the weekend cleaning the inside and outside of the car, changing all the fluids and filters and draining/adding fresh gas, this car started up right away and runs well with no leaking, no dripping and no smoking from the tail pipe that I have noticed all weekend. I had it idling in the driveway for over an hour with no smoking, no overheating and it just sounded great. It has a 2011 NYS inspection sticker on the window, and the elderly owner who had the car passed away in 2011 where the car sat under a car port until I got it from the estate. I have driven it around my residential area over the past 3 days and it starts right up, stops well, drives fine (keep in mind it is a 44 year old used original unrestored car). There are no warning lights on , the car does not overheat or stall, and the power top works. There is one spot on the drivers door where you can see prior body work done ( see photo ). The rest looks fine. The trunk floor is solid ( see photo ) and I don't see any rust damage from looking under the car. The car does need a new top, new carpet,and the interior door panels/front seat redone and some more cleaning. It also needs the passenger door lock unstuck or replaced. The original ignition switch works but is worn and I have ordered a replacement. If it gets here before the end of the auction I will replace it, and if not, it will go with the car. It is certainly a car that you can use and drive right now, and fix, customize or tinker with it while you are driving it. The odometer shows 53,000 miles however I don't know if it has gone around or if the mileage is correct. The title on Ebay is marked as "clear" because I have the signed NY state registration slip ( no titles on old cars in NY), as well as an original and signed death certificate ( morbid but necessary to get a title in your state if your state issues titles) and an original and signed letter from the estate trustee ( which you may or may not need depending on your state ), so all the paperwork is signed and ready for you. This is a 44 year old original unrestored used car and is being sold as/is, where/is with no warranties expressed or implied.
