Vehicle Detail

1931 Henry Ford Model A Roadster "Delta Special" an Early American HOT ROD We do not know the entire history of this Model A except that most of it was found at an old wrecking yard about 3 years ago here in Stockton , CA and appears to have always been in CaliforniaThe motor was running and had a weird homemade looking dual Carb intake and straight exhaust. There is no telling how long it sat as the wrecking yard was asked to haul it away from an old farm. The Engine and Chassis both had matching VIN which is extremely RARE for a Model A, as they were usually swapped out a few times over the past 80 years . The Chassis has been completely rebuilt with new Brakes and Assembly , Rods , Friction Shocks , Springs /Bushings , motor mounts and plus a lot more little parts. The Chassis is Z'd in the rear and the front has reverse eye springs but maintains the stock axle (we wanted to replace with a drop axle) with mechanical brakes. The Engine is how it was when we found it. We did pull it apart and the it was re-babbited so we shimmed and plasti-gauged them accordingly. The Pistons, Pins and Rings were brand new and had no wear. We put a new gasket kit with a premium Copper Head Gasket .The original intake dual carb intake was cracked and was replaced with a Riley Intake with twin Large Logo Stromberg 97's . We also added a Finned Riley Side Cover on one side and a Super Rare GEMSA side cover on the other side. It has an Early Wico Magneto (Centrifugal advance) and RED'S 4 into 1 Header. The Radiator was original to the car but we did have it recored. This Engine fires up perfectly on the first crank every time without the need to set timing or throttle. . The Shift Tower was completely rebuilt and the shifter was nickel plated just like the original. The Wheels are 1932 Ford Model B 17" Wheels and the Tires are brand new with less then 100 miles on them . The Body is in Great Shape and the original paint (Gunmetal Blue) can still be seen on the Doors. Most of the Body is all original with the exception of the Deck Lid and a lower panel below lid which both are Brookville replacments. The body has relatively little rust with no thin spots in the steel and the doors are also in great shape. The Seats are out of an 1949 Austin Healey and is in between a bucket and Bench seats and wrapped in some old sofa material (just for test drives). The seat belts are early Bell Auto's. This Model A has a Clean California title and matching Chassis and engine VIN. The Title Says 1931 Roadster. There is no Late fees owed , and is currently registered as a Non-Op .
