This little car was purchased on eBay about 5 years ago, when I thought I needed another project to occupy my time. The seller was/is from from Pelham, AL, and I assume the car was from somewhere nearby. The original owner drove the car for a few years and then died. His widow let the car sit til in literally rusted in half. Tim Hedderly, owner #2, decided to restore the vehicle, as it had come from the factory with an electric overdrive transmission, an option that most new buyers passed on [foolishly] due to the large expense {about $1400, compared w/an original purchase price of about $3500}. He replaced the floor boards and rockers; the wiring harness; "bottled" the engine for long term storage and some other work.....then, auctioned it to me. The seats are non-original [obviously.....just there for looks]. I had it painted the Persimmon Yellow, an original factory color for a 1964 Jaguar XKE {a color I have always liked}; new windshield and gasket. Just about everything needed to complete the restoration can be purchased from Victoria British, in Lenaxa KS [top; fuel delivery; dash; trim; etc.]. I still have the original eMails between me and Tim, if interested. It is NOT currently registered or inspected, as it still is a project car.
