Vehicle Detail

1994 Range Rover Classic County LWB in Mosswood with 87,005 miles Gallery (click photo) 1994 Range Rover Classic LWB (there are only two mudflaps on the vehicle. I can leave them or take them off.) Please message me for a copy of the Carfax report or reference the Autocheck report on the listing to confirm ownership history and mileage. Here is a 1994 Range Rover Classic / County, long wheelbase edition with coil suspension replacing the original air suspension. This car drives and looks great. There is nothing that needs to be fixed for this car to run as it should (see below). If you're familiar with Land Rovers you know there are all kinds of expensive problems that can occur. I am familiar with most of them. You can be assured that this vehicle as far as I can tell shows no indication of having had or requiring a major, expensive repair given future care, maintenance, and vigilance towards potential problems. I am not a dealer or a mechanic but I can competently answer most questions and/or refer you to a source. The vehicle for sale is in excellent condition in the rare and beautiful Mosswood color. Mosswood is a rare green color produced for 2 model years that appears bright and metallic in direct light and a darker, brownish green (like an army green) in the shade. There are some modern vehicles from Dodge that have a similar color. In my opinion this is one of the most elegant colors Land Rover has used. The interior is Sorrell Beige leather with a brown dash trim (like almost every Classic produced). The body and paint overall is 8+/10 with some paint chips on the hood, a few deeper scratches (poorly touched up by a previous owner), and a few bird poop etched areas on the roof. The body appears to be completely rust free as far as I can see. You could easily fix up the paint and body stuff or just enjoy it as it. Most people will notice how awesome it looks for an 18 year old car, I get compliments whenever I take it out. It has a nice, light patina showing some age but not so much like many other vehicles that have been left to rot outside. This car has been well-maintained and garaged. I have owned and considered buying many 1987-1995 Range Rover Classics and very few perform as well and look as good as the one for sale here. All mechanicals work great & viscous coupling is not seized. You could pick this up and drive it home wherever you live which is not something most RRC sellers can confidently or honestly say. I drove this 1100 miles over 3 days from Seattle to the Salt Lake City area earlier in the summer with my wife and a 2 month old baby and it performed almost flawlessly. The stereo has been upgraded with four speakers in the front, two original speakers in the back, a large subwoofer, two amps, and a Pioneer head. I don't know anything about stereos but this has a cd player, audio input port (such as for ipod hookup), HD radio, and Monster cables throughout. If you're not familiar with the stock Range Rover stereos you should be aware that the original stereos were not upgradeable due to the speakers having built-in amplification. Hooking up a modern amplified head unit would blow out the speakers (if I remember correctly). Someone put a lot of work into upgrading the stereo so you don't have to live with a tape player up front and a cd changer located in the trunk with a crappy subwoofer. The subwoofer can be easily removed and the stereo still sounds fine (maybe better) and you get a little more trunk space. All scheduled and recommended maintenance has been performed prior to sale. Tires are new Cooper Discoverer H/T in a "near equivalent" size (235/70R16) as the original 205/80R16 are no longer readily available. Spare is a 205/80R16 Michelin 4x4, likely one of the original tires. If you wish to learn more about tire options for the Classics search "range rover classic tire choices". Condition Check Engine 10/10 - Smooth, powerful, and reasonably efficient. With A/C off I got 17-18 mpg on my trip. With an aftermarket chip like the Mark Adams/RPI you might get 25 mpg easily and run a lower risk of blowing a head gasket over the life of this car as the stock fuel map runs a bit lean at higher rpms. No leaks. Fuel System/Ignition 9.9/10 Traditionally a major source of problems for this car. Everything works great. Fuel pump, starter, etc. all run perfectly. Battery replaced in February 2012. If you really want an upgrade you may want to consider the improved RPI ignition amplifier module which also relocates the stock IAM off the distributor away from heat (which can cause problems). New fuel filter. Exhaust 8/10 No problems here with typical wear showing. I know some parts of the exhaust were replaced at 60,000 miles but that was in 2000. Transmission/Transfer Case/Driveline/Suspension/Steering 9.5/10 The air suspension has been replaced with coils and the ride is as smooth or smoother than most modern vehicles on and off-road. Both small and large bumps are readily absorbed by this vehicle and with the new tires the ride is even quieter and smoother than the original. Transmission shifts flawlessly, transfer case works as it should (also a major source of issues and expense with the RRC), driveline/axles all look good. The various suspension bushings will eventually need to be replaced and you will want to consider the more durable polyurethane replacements but as-is everything works great. The power steering does not leak. This is considered a small miracle for a Range Rover Classic. Brakes 8/10 The brake pads are still good and were replaced at 60,000 miles. Braking is normal, quiet, and immediate. As with any used car where brake service hasn't been done immediately prior to your purchase you will probably need some kind of routine service sooner than you would with a new car, perhaps within the next 25k miles depending on your driving conditions. Electronics 10/10 You will not find many Range Rover Classics with electronics as complete as this one. All window switches work, sunroof switches, heated seats, power seats, power mirrors, stereo is upgraded, all lights even the underhood light, work. Exterior 8.5/10 For a Range Rover Classic this is probably more like a 10 on a relative scale as these were not sold in large quantities and most original vehicles you find will have substantial neglect or amateurish attempts at restoration. Paint is shiny and in overall great condition. Faded plastics restored. The tail gate hatch had a miniscule amount of rust in a not obvious place that I cleaned up and sprayed some Rustoleum paint on. I can point it out to the buyer that wants to inspect it. When I pulled the headliner there was zero rust underneath. There are a few very tiny (almost nothing) surface rust spots in some places most people would never look but if you buy it I will go over where you might want to look to clean it off, but overall body is extremely clean and no rust. Pretty much any car that's spent time in the northeast or midwest has body rust especially an old car like this one. This one came from the Pacific Northwest where the roads are generally not salted. The rock chips on the hood reflect that. Interior 9/10 Leather is almost perfect all around with only minimal creasing and no stains, tears, etc. Carpet is all original, clean, and in great shape. Rubber mats are not original and show fading. Wood trim almost perfect with some slight surface cracks in the lacquer on some pieces if you look really closely due to the warping of the wood with age. If you really want perfection these are easy to restore, but in general you wouldn't notice these defects unless you inspect each piece carefully. Dash/plastics/doors all good. Headliner replaced with a beige fabric that better matches the overall interior colors. The original color was light opal (?) and I did not change out the sunroof or the visors so there is a two-tone effect. I don't really notice it because it's the ceiling. Faded paint on window switches repainted. Plastic gauge display window has a crack that is more noticeable at the bottom but generally not that noticeable. This crack is pretty common. Miscellaneous Doors and door handles all work great (a common problem), driver door takes a very slightly harder push to close, brush guard mounted Hella driving lights are not wired (but I can include instructions or take them off), hatch struts are new, original key and remote keyless entry works on all locks, tailgate hatch does not seem to lock with remote so you need to do it manually (probably easy to fix). Hitch has upgraded brake connector (not stock) for use with American standard plug. No dash warning lights at all except normal ones that appear at startup. ABS light takes a few seconds to go away which is normal. Original manual/books, tools, manual sunroof operation key included. Not original bottle jack included. No wheel chocks. Original cargo cover. Warranty Vehicle is sold "as-is" with no warranties expressed or implied unless available from original manufacturer (e.g. tires). Clear title in hand for immediate transfer. Payment Deposit of $500 by paypal due immediately upon end of auction. Failure to pay immediately will result in re-listing of item or second-chance offer to other bidders. Upon receipt of deposit, buyer will need to send me identity verification (driver's license) and sales paperwork will be emailed to complete/confirm transaction.
