Vehicle Detail
If you are looking for a very solid project 1971 High Performance mopar this could be the car for YOU! This is an ALL numbers matching "H" code 340 Challenger. The VIN, fender tag, cowl, radiator support, engine block and transmission all have matching serial numbers. The car had been stored indoors for nearly 20 years before we found it. It is a factory 340 package with 727 automatic transmission, non rallye dash and air conditioning. The exterior color is GY8 Gold with a black vinyl top. The interior was gold with buckets and console. Please Call with any questions or for more pictures Kurt (706) 296-3615 The pictures depict the car before and after assembly. The assembled pictures were taken at the mopar Nationals several weeks ago in Columbus, Ohio. The asking price for the car was $18,500. Literally everyone that looked at the car thought that it was a completely new body. Upon closer inspection and after talking with us we explained that it was an original Georgia car and not a new shell. Anyway, the asking price was well received by most serious lookers and all agreed that you would be hard pressed to replicate what we have done for less than $20,000. We are now offering the car with a much lower reserve and "Buy it now" price. Please don't hesitate to call if you are a serious buyer. Although the shell was very solid it was still in need of some new sheet metal. The frame rails, firewall, cowl, roof and floor pan were excellent with only very minor perferations and dents. The shell was completely dismantled and rotisserie mounted. It was then thoroughly media blasted and coated with several coats of black Southern Polyurethane Inc. epoxy primer. The shell was then mounted onto a jig for sheet metal installation. New Auto Metal Direct quarter panels, deck filler, deck lid, trunk gutters, trunk floor, trunk floor braces, trunk extensions, left inner fender and lower radiator core support were professionally installed. A Car-o-liner compression spot welder was used to accurately duplicate the location and appearance of the factory spot welds in fact, in our opinion, it is better than factory. The trunk floor and wheel house flanges were then seam filled with two part panel epoxy to eliminate any weld creaking or body flex noises. Please Call with any questions or for more pictures Kurt (706) 296-3615 The front fenders are very nice and have some minor dents to the tops. The doors are very nice as well and are almost perfectly straight and absolutely rust free. The door hinges are original and have been rebuilt. All body panels will need final fitting and bolt kits before painting. Included are new AMD front valance, rear valance. front and rear bumpers, rear bumperettes, bumper brackets and R/T hood. There is almost $5000 in new parts on this car! Also included with the body are most parts and hardware needed to put the car back together including a pair of 1971 parts doors with correct glass, quarter glass, regulators and hardware, restorable grille etc. The interior is mostly intact with a complete non-rallye dash, a/c box, vents, '71 front seats, steering column, console, decent wood grain steering wheel, headliner bows, trim pieces etc. The interior will need to be completely restored and you will need to find a rear seat, seat belts, better panels etc....typical for a southern project car. The suspension that is in the car is decent and is from a 1971 parts car. It has drums in the front and 10" drums in the back. Included and not pictured is the original k member, sway bar and correct lower control arms. The 8 3/4 rear end is in nice condition and still has factory paint markings. I believe it has a 3:23 open gear. Please Call with any questions or for more pictures Kurt (706) 296-3615 The original 340 is mostly intact and is in very good condition in fact it could almost get by with re-ringing though it should probably be punched 0.30. This is the nicest 340 we've ever had! The crank, rods, intake, oil pan, intake, exhaust manifolds etc. are also very nice. The matching numbers 727 was rebuilt in 1991 and never installed. It is in excellent condition as well though because it has been sitting for 20 years it will likely need to be re-sealed. Included with the drive train and not pictured are the drive shaft, non correct Carter thermoquad (440 lp), and original 340 unsilenced air cleaner. The only major component that we do not have is the correct radiator...not hard to find ....I believe that 318 equipped cars used the same radiator. Included with this project are 15 X 6.5 rallye wheels and decent driver tires. I will refund the buyer $400 if the wheels are not wanted. I am a Auto Metal Direct distributor and will offer any AMD parts that we carry at cost to the winning bidder. So, if you want new glass, stainless trim, gas tank, fasteners, emblems etc. we will help you as best we can. Please Call with any questions or for more pictures Kurt (706) 296-3615 The car will be sold with a Bill of Sale, transferable Georgia registration and form letter from Barrow County Georgia stating that a Bill of Sale only is required in the state of Georgia to transfer ownership. This will ensure that you can get a title in your state....we have never had a problem with customers getting titles with this paperwork. A deposit of $500 will be due within 48 hours of the auction ending. The balance will be due with two weeks. Pick-up should be handled within two weeks....delivery is possible. The vehicle is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction if it sells while offered on e-bay. Thank you bidding and good luck! DELIVERY POSSIBLE TO THE BIG DADDY MOPAR SHOW IN OCALA, FLA On Aug-31-12 at 15:34:32 PDT, seller added the following information: ATTENTION: The car is now being offered with a restored 1971 Grille painted with the correct Argent silver and dark Argent metal flake. This is a very nice street / show restoration and please consider this....I recently sold a restored 1972-1974 'cuda grille for $1200. I would consider the challenger grille to be at the very least a $800 addition to the value of the car. The customer was extremely happy with 'cuda grille. I take great pride in my work and hope you will as well. Thank you. Kurt On Sep-09-12 at 20:38:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Please visit my facebook page at Killerbeesllc for pictures of the grille or please call me and I'll be happy to forward any other pictures or info.
