Up for auction is a beautiful and well preserved low 61k mile example of a Pinanfarina designed Spider Veloce. In a sea of red, black and silver Alfa's, this not too often seen Celeste aqua paint color truly compliments this vehicle making it a real head turner. The navy blue original leather interior, original carpets and tonneau cover work well with the exterior charm and a simple hand wax brings out a deep even shine. All gauges and accessories work with the exception of the temperamental radio antenna. The heater blows hot at all speeds, the air conditioner blows cool, the electric windows go up and down smoothly with all original factory tint glass. The vehicle starts with ease, idles and runs out nicely with no issues of overheating regardless of cruising in the mountains or sitting in summer freeway traffic. All fluids have been serviced with a seasonal tune up recently completed and neither issues of rust or rot. The Yokohama tire set and soft cover top are new and the vehicle brakes straight and true. Overall, an honest original 1984 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce which will bring the new owner years of proud ownership. A true pleasure to zoom around town or Sunday drive in the country with -- I would have no reservations driving this Alfa to either coast tomorrow. In a world of bath soap shaped Miata's -- go Italiano! Please ask any and all questions prior to placing a bid and I will answer them as quickly and honestly as possible. Inspections are certainly welcome prior to auction ending -- not after please, as this auction is to purchase and not to simply hold. Any repeated questions I will display below for all to review. Low reserve price is set at half of industry leading Hagerty classic car evaluation guide's total value. I certainly do not intend to exclude anyone, but "zero bidders" are discouraged from bidding (learned unfortunately from years of non-payments) by having a valid Paypal account necessary. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction completion, with the balance due within 7 days. Again, if you have any questions just let me know. Thank you for looking, and good luck if you choose to place a bid. I have received what I presume to be honest questions, sarcastic questions and seemingly jaded questions? I will answer the popular honest ones below. First, an analogy told to me by my Ducati mechanic back before Ducati was Ducati it is today: Never rush an Italian sauce, an Italian woman, or a gear shift in an Italian sports car. Everyone who has read up on Alfa's, owned an Alfa or has done their homework on these beautiful machines knows the second gear synchro issue. Any blog, article or buyers guide will fill you in if you are unaware and in the market. The clutch is this car is responsive, and I always deliberately pause prior to shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Shifting this way will help stave off the dreaded Alfa grind and I never have chosen or needed to double clutch. As mentioned above, the fluids were recently serviced and I strictly run RedLine 75w90ns in the gear box. Speed shift from 1st to 2nd and you will grind the synchro -- period. However, these cars are not meant to be speed shifted and I am not Fernando Alonso. No, this car is not perfect. Yes, it is in beautiful condition regardless of its age. If I were to keep this I would consider a half day winter project to be replacing the front factory shocks. Yes, this color is factory stock and presumed to be factory original. Thank you and keep the valid questions coming...
