Signed by Don Adams and Barbara Feldon of GET SMART fame! This automobile was restored to show quality in 2002 to look just like Maxs Tiger from the classic comic TV show from 1965! The paint was matched with the same code as the 1965 Carnival Red. The interior looks like a new "Tiger" interior with carpet chrome... and even has a machine gun under the hood (not real, of course). This Sunbeam is a V6 conversion Alpine model converted over to look like a Tiger model. Alterations include the prop machine gun under the hood, but it does come with the normal hood too. This Is A Vintage 1965 Sunbeam Alpine - Made To Look Like The Tiger From Get Smart! This auction is for a vintage automobile made to look like the car for the TV show "GET SMART." It has even been signed on the visors by the stars of Get Smart... Don Adams and Barbara Feldon, when they posed in the car for a Los Angeles Times magazine article about the show. The car was the featured photo in the article. Since 2002, the car has been to many charity events and parades. It has even been featured at the Museum of TV and Radio in Beverly Hills, CA at a Get Smart seminar. This car has become somewhat of star of its own... having made an appearance in an episode of "The Gilmore Girls" TV show. An appearance in the A&E Biography about Don Adams. It was even featured in the fan section of the 5 Season DVD Box set for Get Smart. The car was featured in a story about the new Get Smart movie from 2008 starring Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway. The car was used in a photo shoot for pre-publicity with Steve Carell posing with it. The same photo was used in an issue of Playboy magazine too. This Alpine is owned by my good friend Sue, one of the most die hard "Get Smart" fans there is, who has decided to sell off the majority of her collection, as she is in need of raising the down payment for a new home. She is reluctantly parting with one-of-a-kind and/or very rare items, that would make any "Get Smart" fan start to drool. Some more nitty gritty details about this car: Sue first purchased it in Nov. 2001 and had it restored to show quality in 2002. The total mileage is unknown, but the new engine that was put in it in 2005, has only approximately 2,000 miles on it. The car basically only goes to shows or events, and most times it is towed to these places, as it is NOT used as a daily driver. The car has a new battery, a replaced fuel pump, and has had the dashboard re-wired. It comes with the original jacks and tools. Includes the car manual and history of engine work. The prop machine gun in the hood has a hydromatic door that opens and closes on relays. The switch for the hood is on dashboard. The original hood, painted in the same color as the rest of the car, is included also. This is a convertible with no soft top, just a hard shell (no glass) that also is painted the same color as the rest of the car.
