penntiquertoo Store This is a super nice, super cool 1941 truck. It is a 1-1/2 ton stake bed dump truck. It is powered by a 239 95 HP flathead V-8 (same engine used in the Mercurys of that era). It has a four speed transmission. The stake bed has a new real oak plank bed recently installed with new slats in between. The cost of the new wood and slats and hardware was about $500. The bed also has a dump hoist that works. See the pictures of how clean it is underneath. It was just washed for the photo session. Engine and transmission work great. Engine does not smoke or overheat and is quiet. The transmission shifts fine and is in good working order. The truck cab will need new cab corners or will need patched. This is the only area in the truck that has any rust through. The front fenders are solid but have dents as this was a good "work" truck. 6 new tires and tubes were just installed and were purchased from Coker Tire. The wheels were sand blasted and painted as well with a total cost of $1900. This is a very solid and good running truck. I wish I had the time to finish it. Too many projects and not enough time!
