Vehicle Detail

1979 Porsche 911SC Targa On Jul-15-12 at 21:31:37 PDT, seller added the following information: no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve **NO MINIMUM BID -- THE TOP BIDDER WINS**Looks absolutely mazing in triple green: Dark British Racing Green Metallic Exterior on Green Interior With Green Fuchs Wheels Passenger side window will not go up. It's been stored inside of course, so hasn't gotten wet. Probably needs new switch Hadn't Been Run in Many Years Until I Started It Today For the Video Embedded Below For YouPrevious Owner Said It Ran Fine When Taken Off Road, and He Started It Up Every Month or so Until it Ran Out of Fuel in His Garage many years ago. I saw it was in his garage, and was covered with a thick layer of dust and it was evident it had not been touched for a long, long time...it looked like years as he said. Targa top needs to be recovered and seats need to be recoveredWhen I Started It Up Today for the Video, It Ran only for a 10-20 seconds at each attempt and then engine shuts off...it is not getting adequate fuel supply. Nice braided stainless steel ignition wiresIncludes Blaupunkt Stereo That WorksDashboard Has No Cracks Upgraded Steering Wheel Doesn't Leak Oil On The Floor In Garage Title is a Clean and Clear Florida Title The Title Can Also Be FedEx'd, Faxed, anywhere, if it helps youIf you contact me before the auction ends about transport, I may offer to contribute to your transport costs as a sign and token of good faith and well wishes...I want the car to go to someone who will appreciate it even if it's going far awayThere are hundreds of pictures available for you to examine belowThere are also multiple videos included below You are bidding on a 1979 Porsche 911SC Coupe with a Manual Transmission. It has a dark green metallic exterior and a green interior. This car was recently taken out of long-term storage to liquidate my collection of Porsches. I started it for you as you will see in the videos below, but it doesn't stay running for long enough to drive it. The brakes stop the car from rolling in the garage, brake pedal feels good (not too soft or hard, at at good height from the floor) clutch pedal feels good as well, shifter feels good through all the gears at least while not in motion. The previous owner said there were no syncro issues, but he just took the car off the road due to his own personal failing health. There is nothing being intentionally hidden about this Porsche, as so many people do in ads and auctions, as you'll see very clearly from the hundreds and hundreds of pictures and multiple videos in the auction. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 13 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about the car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I have gone far out of my way by shooting hundreds and hundreds of photos not just of every imaginable angle, but also in multiple lighting conditions, even multiple cameras, and I did videos for you -- by doing this you don't have to rely on a seller's "interpretation" of characteristics of the car, but instead you can draw your own conclusions from what you see. My goal is that if you use everything I provide to you, you get a more thorough demonstration of the car than if you came to see a car in person. I also go out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. I work hard to make sure I get specific positive feedback comments; I don't take it lightly, and it means a lot to me. I look forward to getting to know you if you'd like me to (or if you'd like to buy the Porsche without me getting to know you, that's OK too!)! Use the combination of the photos, videos and text for full disclosure, with more emphasis on the photos and video as the description is clearly not intended to be exhaustive. As eBay says, a single picture is worth a thousand words. eBay strongly recommends the best practice of providing as many photos as possible and letting the photos do the talking, rather than trying to describe in words what can be seen in a photo or trying to recreate in words what already is in provided photos. That said, I still gave you my impression of the Porsche's characteristics above as a secondary analysis. I have been registered on eBay nearly 13 years and have 100% positive feedback. If your impression of a picture/video differs from what I've written or said, then your own opinion should govern your opinion. Any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, which eBay indicates is always the preferred method of communication. I will usually answer within 24 hours. I wish the new owner of this beautiful 33+ year old Porsche unlimited and unending happiness with his or her new acquisition, and hope it goes to someone who appreciates it all. AUCTION RULES: Full payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction ending by either cash in-person to be transacted at a bank during banking hours or bank wire transfer only. (Once you receive a fraudulent cashier's check from a buyer, you'll never accept another one either!) If you insist on using a check, the check may only be drawn from a bank with a South Florida branch and it will be made out to your name where you will then convert it into cash in front of me or my representative before paying. If you don't do this you'll have to wait a minimum of 6 weeks for the check to fully clear and you will incur unavoidable storage charges. If you pay by cash, I will meet you in a local branch to accept the cash and it will be deposited immediately and obviously the bank teller will check each currency note for legitimacy. I will not deviate from these rules. Pickup is also due within 14 calendar days, and may not occur until funds have cleared. The battery is not included. Storage for the first 14 days is 100% FREE. There is a storage charge of $350/week beyond 14 days, and is limited to 2 extra weeks (for a total of 4 weeks of storage). If you want to avoid these storage fees but can't pick up the car for months, I can set you up with a public storage unit under your name, put the car in there and FedEx you the keys, title, etc., as long as you have paid in advance. You must read the entire auction description, follow the rules, and study each picture and video fully. Any inspections must occur prior to the auction end. I do not offer a warranty on anything that I sell, ever, as a matter of personal philosophy -- this Porsche is As Is with absolutely no warranty of any kind expressed or implied. No testing of this car or its mechanical/electrical aspects of have been done and there is no implication that something works on it that hasn't been specifically demonstrated to be working in a video or text; you should not assume something works or is present that would have worked or was present when this 33 year old car was new or last running or on the road. You get the Porsche as pictured, captured in the videos, and described, a clean a clear title, a Bill of Sale, at least 2 keys, multiple alarm remotes, and if their inclusion is indicated in the description or pictures: records, books, documentation, brochures, etc. On Jul-16-12 at 07:11:47 PDT, seller added the following information: The following movies demonstrate a walk around of the Porsche and engine start at the end of the first movie around the 5 minute 30 second mark. The second view is an engine-view of another engine start. In any event, these videos allow you to gain an in-person impression of the car with a different perspective than photographs alone. The following photo slideshow automatically displays the first 100 of more than 1,000 available pictures in this album. To view the remainder of the photographs, and to be able to zoom in, etc., right-click near the bottom of slideshow window where it says "View all" and select "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab." That will keep this auction page open while you are viewing the pictures in a separate web browser window or tab: On Jul-16-12 at 07:14:48 PDT, seller added the following information: The engine start in the first video above is not at the 5 minute 30 second mark as stated above. Rather it is closer to the 3 minute 30 second mark.On Jul-20-12 at 11:15:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: This auction also includes a couple interesting bonus items: A 1:43 scale, scale-model of a Porsche 911 Targa made by High Speed. Perfect for a presentation case, or on your desk or in your office. An original 1979 Porsche 911 Targa magazine advertisement (or Porsche dealer brochure, can't remember which it is, but I know it's nice)
