no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve **NO MINIMUM BID -- THE TOP BIDDER WINS** 1974 Porsche 911S Coupe Guards Red Needs Rubber insert in front bumper, a very inexpensive maintenance item Hasn't Been Run in Many Years, However Previous Owner Said It Ran Fine When Taken Off Road To Get New Ignition Distributor Been in Storage For Many Years Without Being Started Doesn't Leak Oil On The Floor In Garage Title is a Clean and Clear Florida Title in my nameIn Addition to the Title, You May Also have a Bill of Sale and a Copy of My Driver's License If You WishThe Title Can Also Be FedEx'd, Faxed, anywhere, if it helps youIf you contact me before the auction ends about transport, I may offer to contribute to your transport costs as a sign and token of good faith and well wishes...I want the car to go to someone who will appreciate it even if it's going far awayThere are hundreds of pictures available for you to examine belowThere is also video included below You are bidding on a 1974 Porsche 911S Coupe with a Manual Transmission. It has a glossy red exterior and a black interior. This car was recently taken out of long-term storage to liquidate my collection of Porsches. I tried to start it but I recall the previous owner told me that he took it off the road to get the ignition distributor rebuilt. It has a distributor in it now, however it is not bolted down. It will not start the way it is, however, I recorded the engine turning with the starter so you can see that. There is nothing being intentionally hidden about this Porsche, as so many people do in ads and auctions, as you'll see very clearly from the hundreds and hundreds of pictures and multiple videos in the auction. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 13 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about the car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I have gone far out of my way by shooting hundreds and hundreds of photos not just of every imaginable angle, but also in multiple lighting conditions, even multiple cameras, and I did videos for you -- by doing this you don't have to rely on a seller's "interpretation" of characteristics of the car, but instead you can draw your own conclusions from what you see. My goal is that if you use everything I provide to you, you get a more thorough demonstration of the car than if you came to see a car in person. I also go out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. I work hard to make sure I get specific positive feedback comments; I don't take it lightly, and it means a lot to me. I look forward to getting to know you if you'd like me to (or if you'd like to buy the Porsche without me getting to know you, that's OK too!)! Use the combination of the photos, videos and text for full disclosure, with more emphasis on the photos and video as the description is clearly not intended to be exhaustive. As eBay says, a single picture is worth a thousand words. eBay strongly recommends the best practice of providing as many photos as possible and letting the photos do the talking, rather than trying to describe in words what can be seen in a photo or trying to recreate in words what already is in provided photos. That said, I still gave you my impression of the Porsche's characteristics above as a secondary analysis. I have been registered on eBay nearly 13 years and have 100% positive feedback. If your impression of a picture/video differs from what I've written or said, then your own opinion should govern your opinion. Any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, which eBay indicates is always the preferred method of communication. I will usually answer within 24 hours. I wish the new owner of this beautiful 38+ year old Porsche unlimited and unending happiness with his or her new acquisition, and hope it goes to someone who appreciates it all. AUCTION RULES: Full payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction ending by either cash in-person to be transacted at a bank during banking hours or bank wire transfer only. (Once you receive a fraudulent cashier's check from a buyer, you'll never accept another one either!) If you insist on using a check, the check may only be drawn from a bank with a South Florida branch and it will be made out to your name where you will then convert it into cash in front of me or my representative before paying. If you don't do this you'll have to wait a minimum of 6 weeks for the check to fully clear and you will incur unavoidable storage charges. If you pay by cash, I will meet you in a local branch to accept the cash and it will be deposited immediately and obviously the bank teller will check each currency note for legitimacy. I will not deviate from these rules. Pickup is also due within 14 calendar days, and may not occur until funds have cleared. The battery is not included. Storage for the first 14 days is 100% FREE. There is a storage charge of $350/week beyond 14 days, and is limited to 2 extra weeks (for a total of 4 weeks of storage). If you want to avoid these storage fees but can't pick up the car for months, I can set you up with a public storage unit under your name, put the car in there and FedEx you the keys, title, etc., as long as you have paid in advance. You must read the entire auction description, follow the rules, and study each picture and video fully. Any inspections must occur prior to the auction end. I do not offer a warranty on anything that I sell, ever, as a matter of personal philosophy -- this Porsche is As Is with absolutely no warranty of any kind expressed or implied. No testing of this car or its mechanical/electrical aspects of have been done and there is no implication that something works on it that hasn't been specifically demonstrated to be working in a video or text; you should not assume something works or is present that would have worked or was present when this 38 year old car was new or last running or on the road. The fuel pedal is not connected at the hinge to the floor, nor to the linkage through the floor. The carburetors do move freely when the linkage is exercised by hand in the engine compartment. You get the Porsche as pictured, captured in the videos, and described, a clean a clear title, a Bill of Sale and copy of my Driver's License if you wish, at least 1 key, and if their inclusion is indicated in the description or pictures: records, books, documentation, brochures, etc.On Jul-14-12 at 20:31:19 PDT, seller added the following information: The following movies demonstrates a walk around of this Porsche 911S and engine start attempt, although without a distributor bolted down properly, it is not possible for the engine to start. Primarily then the second video is just to show the starter cranking the engine and you can also hear compression, etc. In any event, these videos allow you to gain an in-person impression of the car with a different perspective than photographs alone. One other note, because there was music playing in the background while filming this video, when I then uploaded this video to You Tube, You Tube's computer algorithm not only recognized the music but also recognized the recording label, so I then got a message saying the video would stay up but it may have an advertisement on it from various Porsche related companies. Unfortunately this obstructs the nice video of the car a bit, but you can close the little ad that appears on the bottom portion of the video window that shows up about 10-seconds into the video. You do this on the top right of the little ad, where you'll see an tiny "X" that you should click. If you don't know what I am talking about with this, you'll see once you start to watch the first video that something is blocking a portion of the car and you'll want to close the ad. The following photo slideshow automatically displays the first 100 of one-thousand (1,000) available pictures in this album. To view the remainder of the photographs, and to be able to zoom in, etc., right-click near the bottom of slideshow window where it says "View all" and select "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab." That will keep this auction page open while you are viewing the pictures in a separate web browser window or tab: On Jul-14-12 at 21:01:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: Driving brakes work when rolling car in the garage. Both regular foot-operated pedal brakes and parking brake as well work (i.e., driving brakes and hand-operated parking brake are working). On Jul-15-12 at 13:58:29 PDT, seller added the following information: The following statement from above refers to a different car, not this car: "The fuel pedal is not connected at the hinge to the floor, nor to the linkage through the floor. The carburetors do move freely when the linkage is exercised by hand in the engine compartment." There is nothing wrong with this '74 911's fuel pedal, it is connected to the floor, exercises the CIS throttle the way it's supposed to, and this car doesn't have carburetors. Again that statement immediately above this paragraph in quotes doesn't refer to this car, but was copy and pasted from another car's auction, so please disregard it. On Jul-15-12 at 19:58:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I can't say for sure that this is an "S" version 911, and not a non-S 911. In other words, is it a 911 or a 911S? I don't know. Are there visible signs? I don't know. I know the 1974 911S had about 10 more horsepower than the 1974 911. Someone who knows whether there are visible indicators of the S vs. the non-S, please write in to let me know. On Jul-16-12 at 13:31:02 PDT, seller added the following information: An eBayer wrote in to say: According to (the) VIN number this is not an S. If this were an S then the VIN would be 911430 and (this) is 911410.
