For auction 1982 VW Rabbit Truck with the desirable 1.6 D Diesel engine. This truck came out of a estate sale. It was a New Mexico titled truck and it seem that it was used by an older couple to commute back and forth between Their New Mexico retirement home and their home in Montana hence the high miles. The truck then sat for years (assuming the settlement of the estate) I received all the papers from the estate and titled it it my name. The title indicates 0 miles, or exempt for older vehicles in Colorado Now as to the condition of the truck. The truck starts runs and drives. The body is straight and rust free with the exception of the tailgate, which has a large dent in it and the front apron which has a dent in it. There is a smaller than a dime size rust spot on the pass door and one on the pass rear wheel lip about the same size that was under the rubber shield. The bed is pretty rust free and so are the strut towers. The underneath of the truck looks clean and dry. The drivers side wheel well has a silver dollar sized rust hole and this is in the lip and not on the frame. This is all I could find as far as rust. The truck has new front U joints or cv joints on the driver side. The stereo is not wired up. There is a fuel pump feeding the engine which indicates a weak injector pump from what I read on the net but it seems to work fine the way it is. I did buy a used injector pump with 112,000 miles on it that is included in the sale just in case but it is running good. There is fresh oil in the engine and transaxle as well as new glow plugs. The truck fires up after 2 cycles of the glow plugs and smokes a little till warmed up but I didn't get any abnormal smoke out of it when driving. I haven't registered it so I haven't been driving it around to figure out if it has any other problems since I was going to go through it and fix the cv joints and paint it, but my plans have changed so I'm putting it up for sale. There is a picture of the truck with the paint sanded down before primer so you can get an idea of the condition of the body. I'm not trying to hide anything with the primer but the paint was pretty ugly cheap blue paint that, as you can see I mostly sanded off. The wipers don't work (bad switch or wiper motor. I added some MK2 Jetta seats that match the interior. The drivers side is the 6 way adjustable for more head room. It needs a headliner and there is 1 crack in the dash otherwise interior is in good shape. Windshield is also cracked and needs replaced. It needs a AC compressor (missing) but the rest of the AC is there. It also needs new front marker lights (i have the old broken ones) and the grill is in pretty rough shape and are available right here in ebay. This are all minor things that you would fix in a restoration and none of it is expensive. This could make a good driver that you could restore while driving it or drive as is. This is the upgrade LX model and I have the chrome wheel lips that are in good condition that are included in the sale. The rear bumper also is included. I don't think I would get in the truck and drive it across the country without some experience with it, but it will start run and drive and charges and drive good going down the highway without any shakes or noises.
