VERY ORIGINAL CAR THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC FOR TOURING. CCCA RECOGNIZED AS A FULL CLASSIC! RECENTLY SERVICED AND READY FOR TOURING, OR JUST CRUISING WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. AN EXCELLENT CLASSIC CAR INVESTMENT PIECE! SPECIFICATIONS Year 1940 Make Buick Model Model 80 Limited VIN 13629032 Mileage 29517 Engine 320 Cid Cylinders Inline 8 Transmission 3 Speed Manual Title Clear / MO Color Black Interior Color Blue Cloth DESCRIPTION Buick began the 1940’s by changing its entire lineup, the new Series 80, commonly referred to as the Limited, now had seating for six people. The new Buick Limited rode on the same huge 133" wheelbase used in the top of the line Roadmasters. Power came from the 320ci Dynaflash inline 8cyl engine, which featured an overhead-valve design, and was mated to a three-speed manual transmission. Recognized by the Classic Car Club of America as a Full Classic, they are great cars for touring. We are pleased to offer this wonderfully original example of a pre war Buick sedan. Finished in Ebony Black Exterior and retaining its factory original Blue broadcloth interior, all complemented by new Lester Wide White Wall Tires. Showing just 29,517 miles from new, this one repaint car is a testament to how well these Buicks where built and how well a car can survive, given the proper care. A 3-owner car, it was originally purchased by the mayor or Allenton, Pennsylvania. It remained registered there until 1974 when the children sold the contents of the estate to a collector in St. Louis, Missouri. This collector has also since passed, selling the car to it third caretaker also here in St. Louis. Light restoration has been done over the past couple years to the car to keep it safe and drivable on tours. The tires and tubes have been replaced, the front suspension was rebuilt with new bushing and professionally aligned, a new Optima battery was installed for reliability, the fuel system was boiled out and sealed, the carburetor was professionally restored, the brakes have been rebuilt and now use the safer Dot 3 fluid, the radiator was boiled out and sealed, the exhaust manifold was planned as they commonly warped over the decades and leaked, the radio was restored and works beautifully, the transmission was rebuilt (due to driver error) and the clutch, throw out bearing, mounts and speedometer cables where all done at this time. This is a solid car with many sought after features, like duel side mounts, twin B-L-C 5 ¾" fog lights, 1940 Missouri License Places, Fisher Body, detailed engine and more.
