Thank you! 1949 MG TC CONCOURS READY It is with great pleasure to offer this fabulous Concours ready MGTC. This TC is a complete frame off ground up restoration and I have included many pictures to show the depth of perfection that this TC shows. In all likelihood this TC was manufactured in 1948 probably February or March. Apparently the first sales record was 1949 thus being titled that way. I do not have any defined history of this TC other than the last ten years or so. The last owner bought the car shortly after the restoration was completed, took it home and put it in its garage to only take his grandson out on a warm summer day. What can I tell you about this TC that is important. First of all the engine is a correct factory replacement block with a brass tag marked “replacement engine” and then the serial # A83198. The original engine number was XPAG5796. Being that this TC has not been judged at a MG specific event or least that I have record of, it is difficult for me to address any inaccuracies. I believe the wood dash is correct as the factory covered then in rexine after serial # TC5380. The steering wheel appears to be a Brooklands but is not marked as such. The front fog lamp is a correct Lucas 462. The radiator thermometer is by Moss. The performance of the car is excellent and drives as well as any TC that I have ever been in. The speedometer does not function so the miles showing would be inaccurate. The tach and other gauges perform well. The lighting system is 100%. The tires are correct Firestone bias ply 4.50.19. There is exceptional mechanical detail performed to this TC as the gear change is easy and the clutch is smooth. The brakes have the correct feel to them all suggesting a complete overhaul at the time of restoration. Last but not least I do not have the original tool kit but included in the sale will be a complete owner’s instruction manual.
