1979 Dodge Magnum XE equipped with the 318 V8 engine and automatic transmission. I bought this car two years ago and it has been a dependable driver, always starting right up and is a smooth cruiser. I have a copy of the title from the guy I bought it from which was in his name since 1989. He stated he bought it from a preacher's wife at that time who had bought it brand new locally. Given the completeness and overall condition of this car, it is very likely true. The body is straight and only rust is on the trunk lip and interior side of the doors. The car was repainted maybe 15 or 20 years ago and is faded and dull. White landau top has been replaced once and is in good condition. The interior is complete but fine Corinthian leather seats could use some conditioner. The original shag carpet is faded and discolored in areas and the headliner is sagging and discolored, but all there. Again, this is a solid, original survivor car and most of this car is absolutely original and, as such, has not been abused but is used for sure. Overall this car is a great driver or would make a great candidate for restoration but it does have a few minor issues. The heater motor is hit and miss though I think the problem is the switch, not the motor. The plastic bushing that connects the wiper motor to the wiper arms is broken so wipers do not work but the wiper motor does. Car runs well but studders occasionally under load though this does not happen often and can be mitigated by adjusting the amount of gas you give it at the pedal with your foot. Power headlight doors are currently in the down position and will go up under their own power from time to time. Again, all small things - but bid accordingly. They only made these early Magnums in 1978 and 1979 and they are destined to be classic muscle cars in the coming years. Even today, these cars have a cult following and this one is an excellent, low mileage, few-owner example. Mileage is between 98k and 99k and believed original.
