FRESH EXTENSIVE SERVICE BY GERMAN SPECIALIST!! EARLY SL ROADSTER’S ARE AN EXCELLENT INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY, AND THIS ONE IS PRICED TO SELL!! SPECIFICATIONS Year 1958 Make Mercedes-Benz Model 190 SL Roadster VIN 7502989 Mileage 72496 Engine 1.9 Liter Cylinders Inline-4 OHC Transmission 4 Speed Manual Title Clear / MO Color Dark Brown Interior Color Tan Leather DESCRIPTION Built at the West Germany Assembly Plant in Stuttgart form 1955 thru 1963, the Mercedes-Benz 190SL was sold alongside the faster, more expensive Mercedes-Benz 300SL, which it closely resembled. However the more affordable 190SL was still equipped with fully independent suspension, having double wishbone suspensions at the front and swing axles at the rear, and a new 1.9 liter SOHC inline-4 producing a respectable 120hp at 5700 rpm and mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. This beautiful 1958 Mercedes 190SL was sold new to a Packard & Studebaker Dealer in San Francisco California and remained there until 2008 when the last owner bought the car and moved it to his home in St. Louis. Since his purchase an extensive maintenance was performed by German Specialist Reid Vann, most famously known for his award winning Porsche 356 restorations. The car was treated to a suspension rebuild, clutch rebuild, heater core replacement, Weber Carburetor swap for reliability and performance, new exhaust, seat belts for driver and passenger, new brakes, heater hoses, new bushings, new springs, new shocks, new tie rod, new fluids, and much more. The previous owner wanted this car to drive as perfectly as possible, he wanted to just enjoy driving the car and know it was reliable. Sadly he passed shortly after completing his task, and with only 74496 actual miles on the car, and a fresh service, we can honestly say this is the nicest driving 190SL we have driven! Finished in Dark Brown over Tan Leather, this stunning Mercedes is sure to bring enjoyment to the next lucky owner. Although repainted several years ago, the paint has held up well and looks just as good in person as it does in the photos! The matching brown convertible top is also in wonderful shape and comes with a matching brown boot cover. Floor mats, service records, owner’s manual, and vehicle history are also included with the car. According to records, the car was delivered with Special Outer Guidance for the USA, sealed beams, both door locks, back up lights, front and rear bumper guards, left outside rearview mirror, sun visors, windshield washer, and more. A fantastic driving and solid example of a 190SL, a car we feel is growing in value year after year. For the investment minded collector, please do not hesitate to contact us to secure this car.
