Had a farmer come in the other day and sold us this 1972 Ossa 250 Pioneer. It is in incredibly original condition. The tank and carburetor were both drained when he "barn stored" this bike in 1978. We were amazed that it kicked over and actually had good compression. We drained the engine oil (although it looked good) and replaced with fresh oil. We then removed the spark plug, turned the key on, and kicked it over... Low and behold, it had spark ! We thought the carburetor was stuck, but the throttle cable was frozen solid, so we had to make a cable. We mixed up some fuel with golden spectro (32:1), put it in an auxiliary fuel tank, and filled the carburetor up. We cleaned the air filter, and kicked it over. It took about 4 kicks before it sputtered, and it cranked on the 5th. Smiles all around the shop listening to this two stroke resonance from 40 years ago. Motor runs quiet, shifts smooth, and funds neutral with ease. Both brakes (front and rear) are working (as well as 1972 brakes worked). All of the body work is in nice condition except for the front fender that has a crack on the right side. Tank is nice, pet cocks work smooth, front forks are rust free and fork seals are good.
