Vehicle Detail
Here is a barn find, it is a 1979 Toyota Hilux pickup it had sat for 14 years in a shed when I bought it. I put a 22r engine instead of the 20r the engine. The 22r engine is out of a 1982 toyota 2wd runs great just a little smoke when it idles ( needs valve seals) doesn't use any oil and the valve train is a little noisy but they all mechanical, I have driven it several thousand miles with no trouble. The transmission is a 5 speed instead of the 4 speed out of a newer Toyota. The body is in decent shape for the year has just some surface rust spots and dents and dings. I believe it has the 4:30 gear ratio, solid front axle. The tires are in good shape although they are old, one of them is a little out of balance but not bad. The pickup goes through the gears good, starts right up when cold electric choke and high idle both work. It does need an antenna what is on it was on there when I bought it but the radio does work. Also the rear bumper is shot but these pickups didn't have factory bumpers on the rear because they have a factory rear roll pan with a spot for the license plate so you can do what you want with the rear bumper. The vehicle does smell like moth balls because it sat for 14 years with them in there. The windshield has a crack in it but it is not in the line of sight. I am trying to be as honest as possible I don't want any surprises for anyone and my feedback is 100% for a reason.A $500 deposit through Paypal required it you win also I prefer Paypal for payment just because it is safer for everyone. If I left something out please just ask and I will answer as soon as possible. This is a used vehicle so there is no warranty and is AS IS. I don't ship, pickup only although for a price I may help deliver just ask and we can talk about that. Thanks a bunch and happy bidding. On Nov-27-11 at 19:14:20 PST, seller added the following information: I want to be clear, the valve train noise is because the the valve train is fully mechanical not hydraulic and have to be manually adjusted (lashed) so as far as I know it is normal noise. On Nov-29-11 at 14:23:13 PST, seller added the following information: One more thing, I don't know it it makes a difference but I have the original 20r engine that ran that will go with the truck if the winner wants it.
