Vehicle Detail
Here is a 1960 Chevy Bel Air just waiting to be restored !It is very solid considering its age. There is no engine. (It was a straight 6. I do not have the block but I have the head, intake and exhaust manifold if the winning bidder wants them. There is a three speed trans that is partially disassembled. The steering column has the gear shifter "three on the tree".Check out the pictures ! The trunk floor is surprisingly solid. The frame appears solid. The bottoms of the doors are solid, inside and out.The car appears to have the original paint. I see no evidence of bondo, just some primer on the doors etc. There are other parts that I will try to add pictures: The inside door panels will need to be redone, but the top metal pieces and stainless are in good shape. There are 3 tail lights and 2 or 3 of the aluminum tail light bezels. Also included are the oval vents that mount in the kick panels. etc.All the glass is good - no cracks. Most of the stainless is decent.I have the rear bumper. One of the rear splash panels is dented on the corner, the other is decent. both are off the car.I see no evidence of collision damage, other than the rear splash panel, and the usual scuffs scratches and dings.Front and rear seats are there, but the upholstery is gone. The passenger side front and rear floor pans had been cut out. The driver side front floor pan has holes. The driver side rear floor pan appears solid. I will help push the car to your tow vehicle (takes two people to push).I have a New Jersey Clear Title in my name. The Title says 76000 miles. I am not sure what the odometer reads. Expect that the mileage on this car is NOT accurate.I have the following items which are NOT included in this auction, but are available if buyer is interested: Most of the parts to convert to a 1960 Impala Convertible. Virtually complete 1959 / 1960 Chevy Factory Air Conditioning system. Air bag setup for 1959 / 1960 ChevyAll in all, This is a great candidate for restoration ! On Nov-20-11 at 11:39:45 PST, seller added the following information: PARTS !I have added a picture of parts included in this auction:2 rear valence panels. One is dented but may be salvageable. The other is decent.4 Tail light bezels with their rubber gaskets.3 tail light lenses.5 trim pieces that go around the tail lights.2 front arm rests.2 rear arm rests.1 inside door handle.1 window crank.1 dome light bezel.2 door thresholds.2 door panels: The stainless pieces and the metal pieces inside the tops of the panels should be reusable.2 hick panel oval vents.1 rear license plate holder / gas door (not shown). On Nov-20-11 at 13:05:10 PST, seller added the following information: I've added more pictures:As can be seen. the bottoms of the doors are solid. (Due to contrast, the passenger door picture is dark - that is as light as I could get it. It is solid)Someone asked about the trunk lock area. It is solid. See pics.I also added a better picture of the drivers side quarter panel. There is a rust hole near the center of the wheel arch. The metal around it appears to be solid, but I did not try to stab it with an ice pic.As mentioned, the frame looks solid. If anyone wants pictures of the frame. send me your email. I will not post anyone's email on ebay. On Nov-25-11 at 11:49:17 PST, seller added the following information: Insider Information: I predict this car will sell for $2800.
