Vehicle Detail

Thank you for taking of your time to view this 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible. This car has the original 455 motor, 4 speed and 411 posi-traction rear end. The VIN is 344670M232910 and the body is 2S. This a rare muscle car as only 690 convertibles built with the above package. As most real muscle cars from this era this car does not have power steering or air conditioning but it does have power disc brakes. Mileage showing is 25949. First let me explain that this is not my car and I am selling it for a widow friend of mine and this car belonged to her late husband for 25 years. I will try to do the best I can with the description but I am not an expert. Second: This car is being sold as a car that needs to be re-stored... This car does run but has not been on the street in years. It has an SC inspection sticker from 1985. EBay allows for 24 pictures but you can see more at link provided below. I hope that the pictures will be enough. I could not get good pics of the bottom of the car but it is in good condition and although a frame off restoration would be the best it should not be necessary. Front suspension completely stripped, bead blasted and replaced with all new bushings, ball joints, tie rods, drag link, idler arm etc. The car does not appear to have been in any wrecks and door, truck lid and hood all have good fitment. The only major rust I can find is at the bottom of both front fenders as shown in pics. Also there is a little damage at the bottom of each fender over the rear wheels. Can not tell if this is from rust or from minor damage. The top frame appears to be good but the cloth will need replacing. The floor boards and trunk floor all seem solid with just small service rust. When you hit on them they feel and sound very solid. Under the hood looks very good. The interior is just plain shot as the pictures will show. All the glass in the car is in good shape. This car was dismantled by my friend and I have taken pics of all the things that go with the car and everything should be there but again I could not guarantee what is here and not here. Everything goes with the car. Car is to be sold as is. Terms: I fully expect for the hi-bidder to want to see the car or have a representative inspect it so I will leave the terms open except I want the transaction finalized within 2 weeks of auction end and funds will have cleared before car and clear title (have in hand) leaves the Columbia area of SC which is where this car is located. Transportation will be up to buyer but we have an enclosed car carrier and would negotiate delivery if that would be a help. Please ask any questions and I will do my best to answer or get them answered. Again there are more pics at: http://www.photobucket.com/seventy442
