Vehicle Detail

1957 Mercedes - 220s Convertible One of the first in the production during 1957 for 1958 introduction to the public. Model: 220s Color: White Interior: Red Miles: 29,500 (Believe to be Original) WE RESTORE CARS, TALK TO US ABOUT YOUR PROJECT.... Last registered in the late 80's this gorgeous 220s Convertible was stored in a house ready to be restored and the project never started... According to the previous owner, it was painted once before she owned the car, and then well kept and driven until the early 90's. The 220s was offered in 1958 with a few made during 1957. This one was manufactured in 1957. The car was inspected and I am going to describe the cart the best I can. According to the previous owner of 20 plus years, the car was restored once. The body is in good shape, the doors open and shut as it should. The body is good overall and the car will need to be painted with some body work needed. The interior was redone many years ago, and for some reasons the previous owner decided to spray the new seats beige and did a terrible job and what a shame! The car needs a good restoration, it will need a new soft top, new interior, the wood is original and will have to be redone, the chrome is in very good condition. The trunk has a hole on the left side wheel well, and some rust underneath. The underneath of the car had some repairs and some of the rust will have to be addressed. This is not in my opinion a weekend project. This car should be restored by a professional to be truly appreciated. The engine is complete, and we have not tried to start it, because since it was parked for many years, the car needs preparation before turning the key. This is great candidate for a true collector that understands that the car deserves a full restoration. The title is clear, no lien, no issues. The front grill is missing the star, the rear left light is broken, the rear bumper will have to be bolted, the front driver turn signal lens is missing, the radio frame is missing and the fog lights do not come with the car and other than this, it's all complete. WE WILL END THE AUCTION AT ANYTIME, SINCE WE HAVE IT ADVERTISED LOCALLY. NO INSPECTION AFTER THE AUCTION HAS ENDED!!I AM IN THE BUSINESS, WE RESTORE CARS WITH HIGH STANDARDS FOR OUR GERMAN CLIENTS AND I WILL BE HONEST AND DESCRIBE THE CAR TO YOU THE BEST I CAN.The Mercedes-Benz W128 was a 6-cylinder automobile that was available in sedan, coupé, or cabriolet body styles and produced from October, 1958 to August, 1959 (Cabriolet A/C and Coupé to November, 1960). Its main model, the 220SE, was the last of the "Ponton" series which had design roots and styling cues beginning in 1953 with the Mercedes-Benz 180 sedan (W120 chassis). The 220SE featured a unitized body/frame construction and fully independent suspension. All models were fitted with a 2.2 L (2195 cc) straight 6 gasoline engine (M127) with aluminum head, overhead camshaft, and Bosch mechanical fuel injection. An automatic clutch was available with the column-mounted 4-speed manual transmission. At the time, the cabriolet was priced similar to Cadillac's Eldorado Biarritz (DM 23,400/$ 8,091[2]). Nearly every interior surface of the coupé and cabriolet was covered in leather, and matching leather luggage was available. However, power steering, windows, air conditioning, and an automatic transmission were not available. In the S-Class lineage, the W128 was succeeded by the "Fintail" series starting with the W111 line.
