Thank you! 1959 CADILLAC COUPE DEVILLE This auction is very important as this will be an extremely rare opportunity to purchase an original 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. I have owned this Cadillac since the year 2000 and it came from the Bob McDorman collection. Bob McDorman is renowned for his once extensive collection of very rare low mile Corvette’s. Dana Mecum sold much of his collection the fall of 2010, many of the cars hitting record prices because of the quality. I had looked for years to find the most correct Cadillac and learned in my chase that most 59’s were done over cars and to find an exceptional one would be hard. As luck would have it I was at a show where this Cadillac was and the owners wife told me she wanted the car sold but the husband did not. Long story short she won. Now with the background being stated let’s talk about this Coupe DeVille. The body style is 6337, trim code 45, paint code 44 and acc-EHY. Please do not confuse a Coupe DeVille with the base coupe which is style 6237. This Cadillac retains all of its original mechanical components all of which works with excellence. The body is just about perfect. You may find a tiny ding or a faint paint chip but no other issues. There is a hint of rust on the bottom of the right front fender which has had no progression since my ownership. There is a hint of some limited paint work but done years ago and matches perfectly. The glass is just about perfect and the chrome is awesome. There is a ding in the stainless near the trunk lock and that is the only damage to any trim pieces. Please remember this is a survivor car not a 100 point restoration even thought it looks like one. The interior flaws are limited to the upper dash padding which can be seen in the pictures. For some reason the ash receiver covers have had knobs installed. The center front seat arm rest does not fold and there is a button cover missing which I contend is still in the car but I have not found it. All of the dash lights work as do the courtesy lights. All gauges work but I am not sure of the reliability of the fuel gauge. The engine compartment is original with detail work done to the valve covers and engine components. The air cleaner is original. The trunk is original including the mat. This Cadillac is complete with all correct tools, jack, base, lug iron and even the tire wedge. The spare is a replacement tire probably from the sixties. The trunk mat is soiled but is 100% otherwise. The undercarriage has not been detailed but simply looks like a late model used car with no rust. The tires are correct Goodyear radials, the wheels are in the correct gray color and the Eldorado wheel covers are virtually perfect. If there is any detail that I have left out then please feel free to call or email. This Cadillac has had very limited use since my ownership but I will assure you when you are out and about be prepared to talk about it. Thanks for looking.
