Vehicle Detail

Ok, it's time to thin out the herd and I must let a few of my Cruisers go. First to go will be this 1990 FJ62, a nice survivor that even has the original radio in it! THis one looks good but will need some work, as expected with a LC of this vintage. It is running and driving but don't figure on getting this and driving coast to coast. IT IS GOING TO NEED WORK. Overall the truck looks very nice but it has been used so there are the common bumper blemishes, actually the front bumper is bent forward a bit on the driver side and the rear bumper has a minor dent (both pictured). The front left fender has minor impact damage (pictured) and the passenger fender has a little ding on in (pictured, looks like it was from a rabid tree branch). There is no rust, this is a southern truck that wasn't exposed to salt. The passenger side blinker broken and the windshield has a crescent shaped crack in the lower left side. It may sound worse than it is, but take a look at the pictures to judge for yourself. Everyone loves this old wagon and in my opinion it looks the way an old FJ wagon should. Interior is good, not perfect by a long shot but cleaner than most. Seats are good, carpet is good, and all the gauges work. Well optioned truck for its day, all the power windows work (passenger side front is intermittent but the driver front is working excellent). This rig has 250K miles on it so I doubt you'd expect it to be showroom new. It is all original, it is however missing the rear cargo carpet. Now for the running/driving condition. Yes it does run, yes it does sound like a Landcruiser with an inline 6 versus a new V8 (it sounds like a loud clock versus the quiet of a V-8), revs out good and has tons of torque. The transmission works in all gears however reverse needs a bit of gas to persuade it to go. Not sure if it needs a trans oil change or an adjustment. The front end is its weak point, this one is very sloppy and will need at least the front end (steering gear) rebuilt. It just is not good to drive in its current state and will need to be addressed immediately before taking this LC anywhere. Tires are good for now, eventually you might want to get some but they have decent tread. Wheels are obviously not original but i do have a set of original chrome rims (with mismatched tires) from another FJ62 I have that I can include if you want them. Overall if I didn't have so many projects that have me plotting and strategizing where i can park everything I would not be selling her. Please ask questions, I will be more than glad to assist. Also, it is listed locally so I reserve the right to end the listing at any time. Thanks for looking and I hope she finds a good home!
