1968 AMX 390 4sp project on rotisserie. This car sat in a barn for 26 years! I bought this car last year on ebay for $5500 and it was all original except for a hurst shifter and fm converter. It is a rally green car black interior power steering power drum brake car with factory torque links and posi rear. I dis mantled the car and mounted it on a new direct lift rotisserie ($1300 plus shipping) had the car starblasted, it was originally undercoated. The frame rails, pans,and entire under side is very solid trunk pan is very solid but has just a very little rusting in one area, easy fix. The sifter hole was cut for a universal hust shifter ( see picture) but all the metal is there, it just needs repaired. We patched the drivers side fender trough, it was not bad and you will not see it with fender on car.The doors on the car are totaly rust free, just a couple of door dings on pass side. Front windshield pillars hand very few pin holes after blasting it and were filled with jb weld.Top off car is perfect and so is the entire rear window area.The drivers quarter has one small metal patch and a lower rear quarter and lower inner installed. The pass quarter needs replaced, I have new section (see pic) after blasting we discovered and dent that was filled with lead and also the inner wheel well needs some work, This is the worst thing about the entire car and can all be fixed easy buy a good body man.The pass fender is perfect. The drivers fender is rusted on top and the bottom some but I have a very solid javelin fender that has a sall dent in lower section. The original hood has rust in the front. I paid $700 for a very solid hood that has a couple of small dents and surface rust but is the best there is out there, I was very happy with it.The grille is very nice but I also have a NOS one $300 in the box. The bumpers are perfect rechrome cores, The back one really only needs it for show. The front one is cloudy no rust or damage to either. Front and rear valances are perfect, all glass is in but no windshield, All stainless trim is in great condition including wipers and antenna. The original tunk lid has a little rust on the edge but I have a very solid one from a javelin.all emblems are nice except the quarter circles need replace. entire tail light assembly is very nice just some very light pitts. I have the original uper and lower a arms but also have rebuilt ones with new bushings plus a complete new body and suspension bushing kit $150.All the original steering is in good condition. I spent $1400 at American parts Depot for all new springs lines cables and related parts under car, I have all original power drum brakes but also have a complete kelsy hayes power disc brake set up $500. I have a original set of 68 only chrome wheels from wheel vintiques inc $1000 with two sets of original center caps. I have great condition original exhaust tips and all original hangers in great condition I have no tail pipes.I have original gas tank that needs restored but have a new sending unit and cap and bolts. I have original 58K drive train, The motor had one stuck piston but all components are in great condition. I have original exhaust manifolds, pollution brackets one new side piece but no other parts. I have $1500 in another 68 motor with fresh heads and recent rebuild on short block and many new motor parts, Air Gap intake ect. The interior is in excelent condition. Door panels original and perfect with arm rests and plugs. Seats are original perfect. The dash is perfect Plate # 02453 The steering wheel is real nice but has one crack. The car needs new carpet and headliner, The seat belts are perfect. I bought a 69 original hurst shifter and linkage and hump piece $400.I bought a new drive shaft and also have the original. I have original radiator and a new 4 core $300 and go pack shroud. I have original space saver, canisters, jack and wrench for car. I have every bolt and nut from car and lots of new ones! I have $15k invested in this car and it would be a sin to part it out, but i will have to if I dont get the reserve because I know the value of them and can get more but I would love to pass this piece of history to someone who could restore it to original condition. Yes, door tag is there and original, do not have broadcast sheet, Yes, original carb with tag. also diff. tag and vin plate matches title, This car was complete and original when I bought it. Yes, the rotisserie goes with the sale Yes I have all the trim for the car and it is in great shape. I would check motor,but it looks great.
