very rare car, someone is going to get a great deal because i am starting this vehicle below $1,000.00 with no reserve , this vehicle runs great, the engine and transmission are rebuilt at 81,516 miles and only have approximately 29,000 miles on them since the rebuilt. i will describe what has been done and what needs to be done.............this is the very first year that amc intoduced the eagle, it is rare with only 10,616 cars made. most went to the junk yards years ago, there aren't many of these 2 door coupes left that are actually running good like this one and not leaking fluids or needing major mechanical repairs. this vehicle is being listed with no reserve, starting bid below $1000.00 and we all know you can't find anything out there that runs for this kind of money. you can resell this vehicle and always make a profit. i've owned this vehicle since 2002. it needed much much work done on it then, i have most of the mechinical repairs done to it, i hired out all work as i could afford it. now its time for someone else to finish the body and have a real classic car that's very rare. the engine is a 258 ci - 6 cylinder, automatic transmission, this is a awd-all wheel drive vehicle and it is permanant awd and was made that way. most of the work was done between 2003 to 2005, that will include new transfer case, new gas tank, transmission over-hauled and rebuilt, engine rebuilt, most of these big jobs done at about 85,000 miles. underneath rust fixed except the trunk area which you will see the two ends have repair needed. new exhaust front to back in 2005 and the head pipe just in front of the muffler is already rusting out from the salt winters here in iowa, so plan on replacing the exhaust work to make it all new again. this vehicle was never garaged so it sits outside year round. tires were put on at 88,000 but the left front is worn because it was not balanced correctly. these are over sized tires in order to get the white lettering, you may want to reduce the size back down to original 195 size or up to 205 size, these are now the 235 size. some misc work done includes front brake, ball joint, axle shaft, belts, axle boot, bearings, heater core, carb repair, front wheel bearing, brake line, just to mention a few. i tried to fix things as they were needed. this car hasn't been used much the last 2 years because i have a new car and don't go to car shows now, i sold my other classic car also and now will sell this car. this car should be able to go about anywhere, but it should always be certifed ready by you or your mechanic before any long trips. some of the things needing work are the 2 rust sides in trunk, new windshield washer fluid container and pump, repair or replace vinyl leather top or take it off and paint this entire vehicle black and add some nice aluminum mags. replace the bucket seats, fix passenger window, it doesn't work and needs new cable or motor and cable, replace window seals, they leak at the top on each window, hood release broke, using clip on ring as seen in photos, dime size chip on drivers side windshield, has been there all the time i've had this car and it hasn't been a problem. seat belts are used and worn out and should be replaced, they do work but they hang alot and need help back up when done using them. rear window sill once had a sub woofer speaker, so there is a square cut out spot that had warped from the sun all these years so you will replace that board or repair. air conditioning has never worked and i have never had it looked at. driver sun visor missing, should replace both visors for a match. as you can see, what is left is jobs for the body man. simple jobs for those that do there own work, very expensive jobs for people like me. i have many photos for you to look at. this vehicle is 31 years old so there will be nicks and bumps here and there. these are 20 footer photos so expect paint peeling on rubber/plastic parts and some surface rust around wheel well areas. consider this car used and it should be a project car in need of completion. it is a very good car and very rare. for all the money i have put into this car, it is being sold very very cheap so you shouldn't complain about anything. when in doubt, don't bid. real car buffs know what they are looking at and know what needs to be done, i can't explain every single little thing, i've done a long list already. good luck bidding, i have a good ebay record and will work with the winner to complete this transaction in a professional and friendly manner. this vehicle is sold as is with no warranty, nor do i imply any warranty. buyer is responsible for all shipping and pickup charges, the buyer is to make all arrangements to have this vehicle picked up within 7 days from end of auction. payment is expected through paypal ($500.00 no refundable deposit) and balance to pay in cash when picked up or wire the money through a bank america bank if you use them or a certified cashiers check. no personal checks or money orders. i have a clear title for this vehicle which you will receive when you have payed for it and picked it up.
