This auction is for a 1965 manufactured, 1966 model year Porsche 912. This car was first purchased in September 1965 in Redding California, which would make this one of the first 912 sold in the US. See the original warranty book (included with car) pictures. This is an early “3 gauge, painted dash car” which continued for the first 1500 or so 912 produced, after which the dash got aluminum trim. This car is originally white with a red interior.This Porsche came from California and appears to have never been in a salted road area. The body is solid and relatively rust free. The floor boards on the other hand are shot and will need to be replaced. I suspect water entered the car through old window seals, the original floor insulation was organic material which held water like a sponge and the floors rotted from the inside out. The outer, lower rockers below the door are pretty shot too, a common malady with these cars. Replacement panels are readily available. There are various dents and dings and the passenger door is buckled, looks like someone backed up into something with the door open. This car has its original 4 screw horn grill front fenders which appear to be in good shape. Most of the common rust areas on the body like the turn signal and head light holes appear to be solid on this car. I cant see any evidence of accident damage, the fenders and doors look like originals and the body is straight. This 912 is a roller project car. It has been partially parted out, it is missing the gauges, engine, transmission, dash switches, door handles and various other parts. Comes as shown in the pictures. I have a good clean title signed by the previous owner. The last picture on this auction is of a restored or nice original white/red 912. This picture is for inspiration purposes and to show what this car can look like once restored, this auction is for the project car pictured and not the restored car.
