Up for auction is a clean VINTAGE 1955 CHEVROLET EARLY THRIFTMASTER DUMP TRUCK. I am not the owner, I'm listing it for another party. I will try to answer any questions or contact the owner for the correct information. If you are the winning bidder I will provide all contact information and make arrangements for you to pick up and pay for the truck. A deposit of $250.00 will need to be sent to my Paypal account within 48 hours of auctions end, non refundable. The dump truck is a 1955 Chevrolet Early 1st SERIES Thriftmaster. 6 cylinder, 235 HP, 1 ton, 4 speed manual transmission, Duals. I originally listed this as a 3/4 ton as I was told. However a helpful Ebayer wrote me and stated the 3800 tag on the hood says it is a 1 TON. He said to check the GVW tag on the drivers door and if it said 8000 or 8800 it is a 1 ton. It said 8800. The Vin Number is L55J002495 and the owner has a clear title. He has owned it a number of years and when I went to take the photos it started right up. Being this old it does need a tune up and fresh gasoline put in the tank. The title states the color is Blue but at this time it is Green, it must have been painted at some time. The owner stated there was NO Putty and I did not seeany visable rust. The front tires are new and the back duals are good, normal wear but still drivable. He has put a new bench seat inside. Glass is all good, has dual mirrors. The dump works fine. We raised it to take the photo and it has dual hydraulic cylinders. The box is still solid, metal with wood sides, normal scratches and small dents. He stated the odometer has not worked since he owned it. The dial had come loose and dropped down where we could not read what the mileage was. I COULD NOT LIST THIS TRUCK ON EBAY WITH OUT PUTTING IN A MILEAGE. SO I LISTED 50,000 MILES BUT WE CANNOT READ THE ODOMETER, THAT NUMBER IS NOT CORRECT. This truck would be a great addition to your collection or great for light hauling. With a little TLC it would be a classic that you would be proud to own. It is a 56 year old Dump truck and is being sold AS IS, NO WARRENTY. We tried to state everything we knew about the truck.
