Vehicle Detail

SquareTrade © AP6.0 1951 FORD SHU BIRD I will write as much information on this car but will try not to drive you insane. This will be the last time I will post it up again. Last time it did not meet the reserve by only a couple of hundred dollars, so I have lowered the reserve to the absolute lowest I will take on the car. If it does not sale it will go back in storage. This is a Shu Bird only four known to exist from what I have been told. I purchased this car from someone locally. Who purchased it from someone else. There was really no story that the previous seller could tell me but the car has a plaque on the passenger side that states owner Mel Yampolsky. So I started to investigate and found out that Mr. Yampolsky died in 06 from Cancer. He had this car specially made from a company out of Jacksonville FL. He actually had four of them built at over $20k a car in 1986. They were all titled as 51 Ford Coupes and he loved them all dearly all of them had metal front and back clips. This car does not have fiberglass front or back like the kits that are sold out there. It does have a clear rebuilt title registered as a 51 Ford since it's all metal. After he passed away his wife did not have any money as he did not have any life insurance and she lost everything they had ever worked for. I was able to track her down and she was the nicest person someone can talk to and told me that the four Shu Birds were sold to a person (that felt he could take advantage of her) who told her they all had bad engines. This A@$ offered her $500 four all of them and in her desperation to pay bills she accepted $500 total for them. From there all I know is the car has passed several hands and each time the owners have neglected the car. When I got it a few years ago, I replaced everything that was mechanically wrong with the car. I worked on the engine and changed all the fluids plus a complete carb rebuilt. The V8 302 in it runs great. The AC works super great with really cold AC, Everything works on the car, power windows, power steering, brakes, power seat. The locks did not work and I purchased a new set that I have not installed and was in the process but the power locks to work. This is a 51 ford coupe mixed with an 86 Ford Thunderbird so all the comforts of a newer car are on the inside. I am selling this car because i recently had a double lung transplant and I suffer from Cystic Fibrosis. I currently own a 57 Chevy also. I cannot restore both cars. This car the way it is won several trophies in car shows. The car runs and drives great and now it needs body work and paint. Also a new suspension. I started working on it a few weeks back as you can see the in the video but had to stop because I was having a rejection with the new lungs. I did take off the metal window trims and rear window trims to start the body work on it but now it seems as I will not be able to work on it. If winner wants I can put all that back or I can leave it off if your planning on doing body work as soon as you get the car. I promised myself I would never let go of it in honor of Mr. Yampolsky which found out that around here he was called the Rubber band man and was involved in all the car clubs and charity events but when it came down to someone helping his wife no one did. Although I always had a perfect feedback record I was inspired by him and my recent health events to start selling DVD Backer Cards. Unfortunately, people do not read and think they are buying a dvd and have tarnish my near to perfect feedback for $1.95 so if you look at my feedback see that it only has to do with the backer cards. You can actually go in one listing and see how many times I put its not a dvd even with a recording. Again, only selling this car because it will not leave my garage for a really long time and it will really hurt me to sell it but rather it go to someone that will give it the love it really needs. I do require a $500 deposit within the first 24 hours by PayPal from winner. And then I require the final payment within seven days. Once full payment is made I will send you the title and a bill of sale. I need for you to sign the title and send me a copy that you sign the title. Once that is done I do not mind holding the car for you until you find a reasonable shipper. You can take all the time you need. If you have any questions please let me know. On Apr-25-11 at 22:27:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I apologize if my description is a bit confusing as I have had a few question that are the same. The car is not disabled, the car is ready for you to get in and drive away. I few week ago I took of the front bumper and the side and rear window trims. They are currently of the car but I can put them back within 30 minutes. I did peel off some little spots were the paint was flaking as I was going to start the body work on it and then paint it but I will put everything back and winner can get in and drive out into the sunset.
