Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a very nice 1942 Chrysler Windsor 3 Window coupe. This is a rare car that is completely stock. They made less than 250 of them in 1942. It has the stock (rebuilt) "Spitfire" Chrysler 6 cylinder motor with the stock Fluid Drive semi automatic transmission. This car starts very easily, runs, drives, shifts, steers, and stops as it should. I drive this car around town and on the freeway with no problems. It has undergone a very nice hobbyist ground up restoration. The tires are new with stock hubcaps and stock trim rings. The body is 99% rust free, with the only trace of rust being below the passenger tail light. It appears that the tail light gasket may have been leaking at some time in the cars life which may have caused this problem, but it is certainly nothing major. The body has never had a patch panel installed in it. The Windsor model had the white trim rings on the wheels, dual visors (not on the car at the moment but I have them), an electric clock that works, and a radio (not working at this time) with a unique stock crank up antenna. The mileage is 57,461 and I believe it to be accurate. The interior just blows your socks off. The original plastic door garnish moldings, dash pieces and steering wheel are something to behold. There are a few places where some cracks have been repaired but overall the interior plastic pieces are breath taking. Some of the leather has been matched and replaced but a good part of the interior is still original. Headliner has been replaced as well as the carpet. Email me if you have any questions.
