No reserve! Description: Here is a very rare 4wd 1965 Chevrolet Suburban. I purchased it years ago as a driver. In checking it out, it appears to be 1 of 444 '65 4WD Suburbans w/barn doors or 1 of 877 w/doors/gate or 1 of 980 when panel Suburbans are included. It has 2 original decals on the metal header above the windshield that provide transfer case operation instructions & operator notices. Both decals were affixed to the orginal tan interior paint & the subsequent brown paint has left an edge where they interface withn the decals. (photos) Quick specs: * free & clear title... * 115" wheelbase... * 4385 lbs. * 4-speed w/ 3-speed transfer case * original vin plate still mounted on the body * 255 h.p. 350" from a '69 Camaro... * 4:10 gears... A/C: none Air filter: paper & pretty clean... Alignment: wear appears pretty even Battery: new battery 2/18/11...good cables & ends... Belts: one...okay Body/paint/metal/rust: Original color was a lighter green, which can still be seen in many spots...dark green has died from sun exposure & age. Previous repairs are @ right rear quarter (some bondo). Body is not rippled from previous work/repaint. There are some new dents to be taken care of; roof has a few, hood has 2 creases & dent, rr qtr. has one, b-pillar driver's side, roof drip rail... Rust is present @ these spots; **lf/rf fenders, where fender meets the lower door edge & leading area on top of fender. **lower leading & trailing edges of both doors... **l/r floors where rust-out has perforated junction of floor & sill. Floors can be saved/restored, as they are pretty good. **driver's sill is pretty rusted & bad...pass sill is fixable... **rear barn doors have a tiny amount of rust @ lower center edges...can be fixed... **rear wheel arches have rust-out on back 1/2...fixable... **rust-out behind rf/lf headlamps, is fixable... **rockers have some rust which has bubbled, but look fixable...driver's sill should be replaced... Brakes: have always worked... Cooling system: there are 2 electrical round fans on the inside of radiator...w/dash rocker switch... Cruise control: previous owner installed cruise system...I've never tried it... Doors/locks/handles: Doors swing nicely & hang pretty straight. Latches & locks work w/ignition key. Differentials: 4:10 gear ratio...front has 10-bolt cover & a guard/truss, rear has a 12-bolt cover...front hubs are manual... Engine: is a 1969 Camaro 255 h.p. 350" to which a Holley Spread Bore Carb has been added along with a Street Dominator intake...engine pad is stamped "F0208WA" ('69 Camaro)...there is a Milodon Sticker on the chrome oil pan. The engine starts easily w/manual choke & has always been quiet. The Holley was cleaned recently & floats adjusted. I don't know what is inside of the engine, pistons, cam, etc... Exhaust: has oem cast exhaust that flows into glasspacks & exit ahead or rear tires...quiet system... Fuel system: mechanical pump on engine that is new w/glass bowl filter near pump... Gauges: speedometer & original fuel gauge... aftermarket oil press. & temp, turbo boost, amps & water temp gauges... Heater: original...controls move freely...works Interior: Interior was done years ago...has 2 van-type cloth/vinyl front buckets that swivel...back seat recovered in matching vinyl...door panels covered in vinyl & fur...headliner covered w/vinyl in sewn diamond design...some metal panels have been covered w/wood grain vinyl...floor has multi-colored shag...has original rubber mat in the rear (very good condition) & original wood floor beneath that (good)... Dash was repainted, steering wheel replaced w/smaller diameter 3-spoke wheel. Lights: Headlamps, turn signals, taillights & brake lights work. Dash, some gauge lights & overhead interior cab lights work. Mirrors: no interior mirror. Radio: none...antenna base is there.. Seat belts: none Shocks: seem to work... Steering: no power steering...high-effort steering... Suspension: leaf springs on 4 corners...rear has lift blocks & longer u-bolts to lift it...front uses springs... Tires: Bridgestone Dualer H/T 33x12:50x15...older tires with longitudinal cracks started between tread blocks... Transmission: manual 4-speed w/granny low...gears are good & it stays in each. Transfer case: it works in all positions... Windows: They roll up/down easily. Side glass all good... Windshield: a few small chips that can be fixed...no cracks...
