Vehicle Detail

1958 Mercedes Model: 219 Miles: 31,000 (Original??). This 219 Mercedes had only 2 owners. For most of its life is was in CA. We have the original pink slip and black plates. This is a very nice driver that needs some minor cosmetics and I will list what the vehicle needs. As some of you know or may I have seen, I recently purchased this vehicle. I bought it from the grand daughter and she also had her grand mother's car, but decided to keep it. Since I only had the opportunity to buy one car, I decided to bring it to FL and fully restore the car. A few days later, the grand daughter offers me the other 219 originally owned by her grand mother. So, here it is... This is a very solid with no rust underneath. It has all the original floors, and inner sills with all the original welding points. No issues at all with the frame or structure of the vehicle as you will see on some cars today. It has all the original rubber mats in the trunk, door sill mats, trans, no front mats, but it has the rear mats. I recommend to put carpet in the car or find a new rubber mat kit for the inside. The trunk lock is not missing we forgot to put it for the photos and the steering is original with some cracks and the horn ring is also original with some pitting. I was amazed by how well maintained this 219 was. 53 years later, you will never see a 219 as nice as this one that was NEVER restored. What it needs: Currently has an electric fuel pump, the original could be rebuild with a kit. ($75) Needs the doors and windshield weather seals. ($125) Interior appears to be original and the rear seat needs to be redone. ($250 for the rear only) The headliner was removed as it was really bad. ($250 installed). The chrome is ok for a driver and the front and rear bumper have some pitting. ($?) The paint is good overall, but there are 3 dents on the car. ($500) Front wood dashboard needs refinishing ($115 or less) No other known issues. If I did not get the other car from the same owner, I would have made this car into a Concours with light tan interior, new chrome, new seals, new paint and VOILA!
