You are bidding on a 1961 Austin Healey 3000. I recently purchased this Healey from a gentleman who had bought the Healey from a service garage in the early 1970s where the transmission was rebuilt. The owner who brought the Healey to the service garage couldn't pay the garage bill so the gentleman bought the Healey with the idea of restoring it. He never got around to doing it and has now retired to the south which is why it became available. The car has been barn stored since the early 1970s. Vin plate reads HBT7L/13200. Body # 3061BT7L 13318. Engine # 29D/RU/H24734. I believe the engine is original to the car as all the numbers add up. Speedometer shows 63,315, however the title shows as exempt because the car is more than 10 years old. The original paint is Florida Green and the interior is white with green piping. This is a super rare color combination. I cleaned the car inside & out & found it to be in good restorable condition. I installed a gravity gas container & got it up & runnning. Engine sounds responsive, has good oil pressure & does not smoke. The hydralics for the brakes & clutch need rebuilt & do not work. The body shows lower rust. Underside photos show rocker and outrigger, and trunk rust. Paint shines but it does have chips & scratches. Interior is complete & usable but needs restored. Dash is clean with nice gauges. Top has shrunk & no longer latches at back. Included with the sale are the convertible top, front bumper, side curtains and a box of miscellaneous parts - all shown in the pictures. Overall a good car for restoration. Could be used as is with mechanical repairs. This Healey is sold as is, where is, and with no warranties implied or expressed. No shipping. Must pickup.
