Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1972 Chevy Short Bed pickup that I have owned for the past 10 years. Engine The engine is a Chevrolet 350. It was rebuilt roughly 30 thousand miles ago. It has an Edelbrock performer intake manifold and a 750 CFM Edelbrock carburetor along with an electric fuel pump. The engine has a small oil leak coming from the front, close to the timing cover. The engine fires up every time, it sounds and runs great. The truck is equipped with power steering. Transmission. The transmission is a turbo 350 that was rebuilt roughly 20 thousand miles ago. It shifts great, no problems. Rear End Stock 10 bolt non posi Wheels and Tires The wheels are 15"x8" Weld Racing Rodlites. The tires are 235/60/15 BFG Radial T/A's out back and 215/65/15 BFG Radial T/A's up front. The tires have about 70% tread left. I removed the locking lug nuts recently because they were starting to become worn out. Suspension The truck has been lowered by installing drop spindles in the front and flipping the rear end over the leaf springs in the rear. Interior The bench seat has been replaced with a later model bench seat, it has some tears as you can see in the pictures, it should be reupholstered. The carpet is old and worn, it should be replaced. The dashboard has some cracks. It needs a glove box and a drivers side door panel. The good thing is the dash has never been cut for an aftermarket radio. That is rare in these trucks. The steering wheel is from a later model Chevy truck. I recently replaced the stock gauges with equus gauges. They look great. I did not hook up the tach because I already had the autometer monster tach. The speedo needs a new cable and the gas gauge is 1/8 of a tank off. So these are things that need to be kept in mind. Body The trucks body is very straight with no rust issues. It has the grill off a 70 pickup. I shaved all the emblems all it needs is minor body work and a paint job to have it looking nice. The truck also needs a new rear bumper. Brakes This truck is equipped with power brakes. They are disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear. This truck stops excellent. Misc The heater and windshield wipers are not working. Overall This truck is very nice. I've owned it for 10 years and I have always enjoyed driving it. It handles well, the brakes work great, it looks cool, it sounds cool and it has plenty of power. All it needs is some general finishing up and it will be an even better cruiser than it already is. The truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. The only trade I would entertain is for a 1st generation Firebird. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I can be reached at 714-751-4756 all week from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. PACIFIC STANDARD TIME I accept Cash in person, cashiers check or money order. No personal checks, paypal or wire transfer. Payment is due withing 48 hours of auction's close. Thanks for looking and have a great day.
