Vehicle Detail
I bought this several years ago from Art Unger, a fellow sdc member and tw editor,my intent was to make a vintage drag car out of it. Well --sometimes we get a curve thrown at us and we have other things to worry about! The good--solid body, fits nice doesn't look like it has ever been hurt, hog troughs and frame are excellent,it was an Arizona car for a lot of it's life(hence trashed dash) All guages work except of course the clock, they are not pitted, the glass is excellent all the way around .it has what looks to be a radiator recore,it does not overheat, the alternator looks fresh, charging system is working well, included is dash from a newer (83) avanti with just a couple of stress cracks, should make dash pretty nice when repaired and dyed black.Wipers work now(new post driver side thanks to Gary Johnson) and I rebuilt the heater control valve,I have most of the stainless wire shields, original front seats(need recovered) And an avanti steering wheel(needs help but fixable) I had the transmission sealed up and checked out, it works well,I have been driving the car last few days,it sometimes smokes a little on startup, but starts good, and runs very strong . It has a 373 tt rearend, build sheet says she was Turquoise originaly! A good car to dink and drive,or do a full blown restoration on! Any question regarding car call me at 253 255 1274 This is my 9th avanti so I know what a solid car is,it needs (and deserves)a complete restoration ! Paint is driver quality -- looks good at 20 feet, The body is excellent in fit --also the power steering is missing,I have lower valve body, ram and hoses but no pump ! I just don't want you to think she's a show car! Also, if sold out of state I would like to keep the vintage plate!
