Vehicle Detail

For sale: 1961 Bentley S2. NO RESERVE. All original except for paint job. The paint job was done before my dad bought it. I am no expert but it does look as if it was repainted long ago. Still, with a good wash, the car is still respectable looking on the road. Not mint or anything like that but it will look pretty good. Pics should load in slide show format from photobucket. History: My father bought this car in the early 80's in Texas. Around 1987 the car was moved to North Carolina where it remained until about two years ago when it was transferred to my garage. This car was inherited. My name and my brothers name are on the 'sold to' block of the North Carolina Title. It was transferred from my dad's estate to us. We never did get a California title under our name because we knew it would be some time before getting the car in driving condition. We never did get the car back on the road. The last time I know for sure that this car was running and on the road was when my dad was alive back in 1999. It was in good running condition at the time. When he died that year the car went into climate controlled storage in NC until 2008 when it came to my garage, which is not climate controlled. The car is now located in Hemet, Ca. where I live. My brother lives in the LA area. Again, the car is not running and has not ran since 1999. I have not even tried to turn it over because I did not want to harm anything, don't have a key, and haven't had the money for any of these things. We have another older car of our dads that we are going to one day put our money and time into, so we wanted to sell this one for garage space and just so someone else can get it going and enjoy it. There are no keys for this car. The winner will have to have Bentley make a key which I'm told will cost around $250 or so. As for the shape of the car, I will let the pics do the talking. I do not believe the paint job is original. Other than that, I can almost guarantee that the rest of the car is original, only because my dad said it was, and he was quite the car enthusiast. I think it will be clear by the pics that it is all original. The reason we are selling this car is simple: we do not have the money to restore this car and we are tired of watching it just sit there and get a little worse each year. My hope is that someone buys this and restores it the right way to enjoy it the way it should be enjoyed. It is a great car and I have many fond memories of great drives in this car. Mileage: 58962. As you may be able to see, the car is on a stand on the rear right tire, which went flat and I have not been able to replace the tire yet. Will ship internationally and... Buyer is responsible for setting up and paying for all shipping, internationally or nationally. All sales final. Once you pay for this car, the sale is final. No refunds. $500 non-refundable deposit into my paypal account within 72 hours of end of auction. You may come by to look at this car during this auction if you live in the area. Please email me here at ebay. On Sep-10-10 at 06:48:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Addition: Shipping company must be bonded and insured. On Sep-11-10 at 10:15:56 PDT, seller added the following information: While clearing some things out of the way for a perspective buyer to look at the car, I was able to get in for a little closer look that some of the pics did not completely show. There is some chipping on some of the door edges and and a few scratches around the car. Like I said, it looks as if it was repainted. I still think that once washed and waxed it will look respectable, but the car is in need of a restoration. Just so I'm clear on everything. The carpet on the floor and probably the leather seats will need restoring. I believe all of this is evident in the pics, but just so we are all on the same page. Again, the paint looks to be the only thing not original on this car. Also, the hub cap for the back right tire that is flat, is in the trunk of the car. All the other hubs are there. THere is also an original tool section under part of the carpet in the trunk with all the original tools in place. Thank you.
