Vehicle Detail
Land Rover Collectors and Discovery Lovers... This is the one you've been looking for! 2004 Land Rover Discovery II SE ** Click here to view the SGS Vehicle Inspection Report ** Hard-to-find and easy-to-maintain metallic Maya Gold exterior. Tan with black piping leather interior.Easy-to-maintain black carpeting and premium mats. This is a 1-owner car. The vehicle history report shows 2 owners because it was a dealership loaner. It got a bit of a send-off the day we took it home because it was the last Discovery ever sold "new" at Land Rover Miramar. It literally was the end of their "Decade of Discovery." This car is under an extended Platinum coverage Fidelity warranty until 10/30/10.That means no deductible for work done at Land Rover dealers and a rental car or loaner is provided for you.Only a small deductible, $50 I think, is required for work done at other authorized repair shops. The warranty is fully transferable to the new owner and I have the current pricing paperwork if you're interested in extending the warranty again. If the new owner is here in San Diego, Land Rover Miramar will provide free Oil Changes for the life of the vehicle. I love this Discovery. I really do. It’s beautiful, it’s practical and everything, inside and out, is in proper working order. If it weren't for a new LR4 in the garage that needs my financial attention, I would be keeping it, no questions asked. This vehicle has been fantastically maintained. Again, it's a 1-owner SUV.Non-smokingNo childrenSouthern California weather only. It has never been off-road! It, of course, has a Clean Car Fax. Along with all the usual Discovery amenities like dual electric sunroofsand a Harmon-Kardon sound system with 6-disc CD changer, I purchased the following items separately. They are not after-market. They are all factory original items from the dealer... An original set of vehicle manuals. A 2nd remote key (the plastic is broken but the key and remote are operational). Both keys have brand new batteries and I have another spare battery as well. English Walnut interior wood trim (over $600)(real wood--not plastic or simulated). Running boards (over $1000 including installation). Upgraded 18" allow rims (almost $1000 including installation). Hard cover for the spare tire (over $180).Looks good and deters theft. Premium license plate frames for both front and back with spare screw covers. Front window HeatShield made specifically for the Discovery. 255/55/18 Michelin Latitude Tour HP tires put on at 61k miles. Arguably the best touring tires out there with less than 4k miles on them! This SUV rides as smooth as any Disco out there! Now here's where things get really interesting. In addition to regularly scheduled maintenance, the following work has been done, completely free, by the dealershipunder the coverage of the original factory and extended warranties. This is just the big stuff. I'm not talking about window regulators, tail lights, wiper blades, etc.All that small stuff has been done as well but this is major work that will save the lucky new owner a small fortune! The transfer case has been resealed (to correct an oil leak--routine with Discoverys). The spark plugs, copper coils and corresponding electrical has been replaced (routine). The engine was replaced at 49k miles. It was a complete long block replacement except for the manifolds. The new engine has less than 16k miles on it!! There's more I’m sure. I'm not great with the technical details but it's all in the paperwork. I have every piece of paper ever given to me on the car--stuff you need and stuff you probably won't need but just might find interesting. Now the flaws. Every used car has them and in this case they are all cosmetic! The leather on the steering wheel is de-laminating.That just means that the color is coming off the leather. It's extremely common with Discoverys. There's a scratch on the front left corner of the bumper. It's minimal and has been professionally touched up.(See close-up photo) There are 2 dings--one on the driver's door and one on the left-side passenger's door. They are very small and shallow.(See close-up photos) The black and gray plastic trim pieces all around the car do show some fade. There are some scratches on the inside of the back tailgate and a small slice in the plastic side piece of the cargo area.(See close-up photo) Lastly, there is a small piece of the interior wood trim that I accidentally broke off. It's in the lower right corner of the radio area.(See photos) That’s it! This is a fantastic vehicle that I know is going to make someone very happy. Feel free to ask me any and all questions. My name is Francesca.
