The 1979 Rolls Royce Corniche, This car was being driven frequently with 113K miles put on until 1999 and since then has been stored in climate controlled storage, It has some minor bumps and bruises on the body and appears to have been repainted once, the interior is very clean for its age as the detailed pictures will show. The wood work is in excellent condition, it has extra lush fitted floor mats on top of carpeting. The leather is showing some signs of wear but is still usable and looks pretty good, although a serious restorer may want to replace it. The underbelly has no visible rusting, all the rubber/vinyl components under the hood look very sound including the throttle bladder and hoses as well as covers and belts, over all the engine looks like it was running yesterday. The boot (trunk) is very clean with all the covers and carpeting in excellent condition. The grill is in great condition as well as most of the other chrome witch shines brightly with only a few pieces showing minimal pitting. It does have a small bracket that is broken on the driver’s side suspension. Overall it is a great car for the detailed oriented first time restorer with all the bits and pieces intact and very close to running condition with few parts needed to be replaced though I am not a mechanic. Perhaps just the fluids, cats would get it drivable. I would love to keep this car that my father left to me since it seems so close to running but I just don’t have the time/money/space. I have seen similar cars in running condition for sale from between 19,000$ and 40,000$ on the web. AS STATED, THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING, BUT IT WAS RUNNING AND ON THE ROAD IN 1999, AND IN STORAGE SINCE THEN. OUR GUESS IS THAT IT WOULD BE A MATTER OF A BATTERY AND THE USUAL PARTS THAT MIGHT DRY UP AFTER THAT AMOUNT OF TIME. AGAIN, NEITHER OF US ARE MECHANICS BUT WE BOTH KNOW THAT OUR DAD WAS NOT HAVING ANY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AT ALL. IT WAS HIS MAIN CAR, USED FREQUENTLY. HE SAID THE ENGINE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE AND DROVE LIKE A DREAM. HOPEFULLY THE PICS WILL DO THIS CAR JUSTICE. IT IS IN NICE SHAPE FOR A 30 YEAR OLD CAR OF THIS MILEAGE.
